Lifestyle diseases over a period of time have increased demand of various diagnostic procedures in the health care system. One of the most common life threatening disease is related to cardio vascular system which requires involvement of cardiovascular technologist to assist the cardiologist in diagnostic and intervention procedures which may be invasive and non invasive. The School of Allied Health Sciences of ANSAL University and MAX Institute of Health Education and Research (MIHER) believes that the advance knowledge and skills in these areas will help in developing human resource with appropriate attitude to assist cardio vascular technologist.
ABOUT THE COURSE
As the population ages, and due to life styles disorders increasingly more people are developing the complications of the heart and cardiovascular system. These heart disorders and strokes are becoming the leading cause of death. Thankfully, due to advances in medical technology, coupled with greater awareness of the signs and symptoms of cardiovascular disease, heart conditions can now be detected much earlier than ever before. Current management of various cardiac disorders includes complex diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, which involve use of various equipments, computer hardware, tools, machines, and pharmacological agents. Optimal delivery of cardiovascular health care is based on the safe use of the equipments and devices. . Because of this increase in cardiovascular technologies, there is a greater demand for technologists and technicians trained in cardiovascular technology programs to perform these procedures. The program educates and prepares the student to become an Invasive Cardiovascular Specialist known as a Cardiovascular Technologist (CVT). The Invasive Cardiovascular Specialist is a health care professional and an integral member of the cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology laboratory teams. The CVT’s primary role is to perform, at the direction of a qualified physician, technical procedures for the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular injury and disease.
3 years of academic program plus 6 months of internship
The candidate must have passed 10+2, A Level, IB, American 12th Grade or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, English and Biology with a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
