ApplyAmongst top 3% universities globally (QS Rankings) | Ranked as India’s #1 Not for profit pvt. University by India Today
Hello
I will compare both of them for you so that you yourself can choose whch one is better for you.
BHU- Around 50% students get placed with good packages in BHU in BCom (this is rare as BCom is not a professional subject like BTech or BBA hence getting placed is difficult). The average package offered was 3 LPA (in 2020). The faculty is highly educated and qualified. The campus is huge. There is a huge library and great wifi facility. As you may know it has ranked 3rd in NIRF (2018). It is an old and prestigious gem of a university which can prove to be a milestone in your career.
Punjab University- It has raked 26th by NIRF 2020 and is a great institute. About 60% students get placed on an average with highest salaray offerd being around 30000. The sports facilities are good here but the class rooms and other facilities like canteen and medical are average. The faculty here is highly qualified too. They are helpful and thecourse is designed in such a way so as to make a student industry ready.
Hello Preety Jha,
Well, I am assuming 6510 rank to be your AIR and under female-only seats you have except CSE and Electronics, all the branches of B.tech 4 years courses unlocked and you have a good chance on them. And in 5 years integrated course, except CSE and maths and computing branch, all branch are unlocked too! And There is a 3% increment in female-only seats so, yes you have chances of ECE 4 years b.tech too!
Hope This Helps,
All the best, and feel free to ask any further query...

OBC - 46
SC - 32
ST - 22
Cutoff may change year by year. It is not constant. So go and visit the particular College website which you are going to select and check the cutoff on there.
Best of luck!
Hi Praveen,
firstly i would like to congratulations you for scoring good marks in your study. And also congratulations for clearing CAT exam.
If you have secured the minimum cutoff of BHU’s FMS will be called for the admission process of the colleges which includes the GD/PI rounds.
The final selection of the candidates is made upon the performance of the candidates in CAT 2020 and the admission rounds. Here the academic record of the candidates is also considered.
Hence there is a chance of getting into FMS BHU .
Good Luck !
Honestly, I had a good time being a part of this college. Since I used to live in the campus Girls' Hostel, it became even more memorable. Hostel was quite inexpensive and very spacious. Usually, there were a lot of College Festivals that took place in IIT BHU and trust me it was one of the best experiences. Late-night walks, the beautiful environment and the calmness of the campus often felt like heaven. Ghats of Varanasi were cherry on the top.
The college has a very good infrastructure but hostel facilities are not excellent but can be considered fine 1. Classroom facilities are good and improving and digitalised 2. Very good library facilities both in central library and in institute library 3. Wifi is available but issues occur in the wifi 4. Hostel food not so hygienic but comparatively fine
The BHU campus is exquisite, its a mix of tradition and modernity, spreading across 1300 acres. The campus has Sayaji Rao Gaekwad central library, where students can find enormous numberof books and digital resources as it is equipped with cyber section as well. For those interested in sports, it has an indoor gymansium, swimming pool and large playgrounds. It has many seminar halls, auditoriums and a amphitheatre for all sorts of events. It has students health centre and hospitals to help students 24 x 7. there are cafterias and atms for the convenience and the campus also give the wifi facility.
