Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Nauni was established in the year 1985. YSP University is a government university located in the state of Himachal Pradesh. It is a state university that has been recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The entire YSP University campus is spread over an area of 1359 acres of land. The university offers diploma, B.Sc.(Hons), M.Sc., MBA, MBA Agribusiness and Ph.D programmes in disciplines of horticulture, forestry and allied sciences. National Cadet Corps (NCC): The main objective of the NCC is to provide opportunities and encourage cadets to broaden their knowledge, improve their communication skills, and develop their character. Apart from training and preparing youth for future challenges in the NCC, cadets are given various benefits such as job opportunities, scholarships, and financial assistance in the time of a tragedy while participating in NCC-related activities.

National Service Scheme (NSS): The purpose of NSS is to provide young students with hands-on experience in community service. The NSS aims to instil in youth a sense of social responsibility, with the overall goal of helping students develop their personalities through community service.

Environmental Sports and Cultural Club (ESCC): Environmental Sports and Cultural Club (ESCC), was founded by students of YSP University to raise awareness about the environment, sports, and culture.

YSP University provides various infrastructural facilities for the overall growth and development of the students. YSP University facilities include separate hostels for boys and girls equipped with a reading room, TV room, and common room with facilities for various indoor games. YSP University Admissions

YSP University offers admission to Diploma in Fruits Vegetable Processing and Bakery Products, B.Sc.(Hons), M.Sc., M.B.A, M.B.A Agribusiness and Ph.D programmes. YSP University diploma admission is based on the merit of the previous qualifying exam. YSP University B.Sc.(Hons) admission is done based on an Objective Type Entrance Test conducted by the university. However, the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) AIEEA (UG) score is also considered for admission to UG programmes. YSP University M.B.A admission is done based on HPU MAT conducted by Himachal Pradesh University Business School. Those who meet the HPU MAT cutoff should appear for a group discussion and personal interview. Admission to M.B.A Agribusiness is offered on the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) AIEEA (PG) conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Those who qualify the ICAR-AIEEA (PG) must attend the group discussion and personal interview conducted by the university.

YSP University M.Sc admission is done on the basis of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) AIEEA (PG) conducted by NTA. YSP University Ph.D admission is based on the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) AICE-JRF/SRF (Ph.D) conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) except for Ph.D Business Management. YSP University admission to the Ph.D programme in Business Management is based on the merit of the qualifying degree. Later, candidates should get their documents verified and pay the course fees. 

YSP University Diploma in Fruits Vegetable Processing and Bakery Products Admission Process

• Meet the eligibility criteria for diploma admission.

• Fill the application form and pay the application fee.

• Admission to the diploma programme is done based on merit as determined by the 10+2 examination.

• 27% of the total seats shall be reserved for scheduled caste (22%) and scheduled tribe (5%). The benefit of this reservation shall apply to the bonafide residents of Himachal Pradesh. 

• Admission for the available seats, category-wise, are made according to the merit drawn on the basis of marks obtained in the 10+2 level.

• Verification of documents and YSP University admission fee payment. 

YSP University Admission Process- B.Sc Forestry Hons/ B.Sc Horticulture Hons

• Fulfil the eligibility criteria for YSP University B.Sc (Hons.) admission.

• Submit an online application form by accessing the university website within the due date of submission along with the application fee.

• Appeared for an Objective Type Entrance Test conducted by YSP University. However, the score obtained in the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) AIEEA (UG) is also considered for admission to UG programmes. 

• 85% of the total seats are reserved for the domicile of Himachal Pradesh and are filled through Entrance Test conducted by the university. The remaining 15% of the total seats are filled through nomination by ICAR based on the All India Entrance Test conducted by ICAR, New Delhi.

• Admission is based on merit as determined based on marks secured in the entrance test. 

• Online/offline counselling for all undergraduate programmes will be carried out after the preparation of the merit list.

• Verification of documents and course fee payment.

YSP University M.B.A Admission Process

• Meet the eligibility criteria for YSP University M.B.A admission.

• Register and appear for HPU MAT conducted by Himachal Pradesh University Business School for admission to the M.B.A programme.

• Apart from HPU MAT, candidates have to submit an online application form along with the application fee by accessing the university website. 

• Complete and submit an online counselling proforma along with all required documents.

• The university will draw and display the list of eligible candidates who have appeared in the HPU MAT and successfully submitted the online application form for admission on the university website.

• However, 75% of the seats shall be reserved for domiciles of Himachal Pradesh and 25% of the total seats are open to all at the national level.

• Those who meet the HPU MAT cutoff criterion enter the selection process that includes a group discussion and personal interview. 

• Final selection is based on the candidate’s overall performance in the written test (HPU MAT), group discussion and personal interview as per the weightage given to the HPU MAT Examination (80%), group discussion (10%) and personal interview (10%).

• Produce original certificates for verification and pay the admission fee.

YSP University M.B.A Agribusiness Admission Process

• Fulfil the eligibility criteria for M.B.A Agribusiness admission.

• Register and appear for the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) AIEEA (PG) conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

• Apart from applying and appearing in ICAR-AIEEA (PG), candidates have to submit the online application form of the university along with the application fee.

• Complete an online counselling proforma along with all relevant documents to be uploaded, for which a separate notice will be posted on the university website.

• However, 25% of the normal seats shall be filled up by ICAR and the remaining normal seats under the HP quota shall be reserved for the domicile/ bonafide residents of Himachal Pradesh.

• Final merit list is compiled on the basis of the percentage of marks scored in the entrance examination ICAR AIEEA (PG).

• Those who qualify ICAR-AIEEA (PG) have to appear for a group discussion and personal interview to be conducted by the university.

• Final selection is based on the candidate’s overall performance in the ICAR-AIEEA (PG), group discussion and personal interview as per weightage in the entrance test (80%), group discussion (10%) and personal interview (10%).

• Participate in the online/offline counselling for M.B.A Agribusiness admission that will be carried out after the preparation of the merit list.

• Get all the documents verified and pay the YSP University admission fee.

YSP University M.Sc Admission Process

• Fulfil the eligibility criteria for admission to the M.Sc admission.

• Register and appear for the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) AIEEA (PG) conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

• Apart from applying and appearing in ICAR-AIEEA (PG), candidates have to submit an online application form of the university along with the application fee.

• Complete an online counselling proforma along with all relevant documents to be uploaded, for which a separate notice will be posted on the university website.

• However, 25% of the normal seats shall be filled up by ICAR and the remaining normal seats under the HP quota shall be reserved for the domicile/ bonafide residents of Himachal Pradesh.

• The merit list of candidates on the basis of the score obtained in ICAR AIEEA (PG) is drawn.

• The choice of discipline for admission to M.Sc programmes shall be restricted to a maximum of seven disciplines to be filled by the candidates in the counselling proforma.

• Online/offline counselling for the M.Sc programme will be carried out after the preparation of the merit list and candidates have to participate in the counselling process.

• Verification of documents and admission fee payment.

YSP University Ph.D Admission Process

• Meet the eligibility criteria for Ph.D admission.

• Register and appear for the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) AICE-JRF/SRF (Ph.D) conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) except for Ph.D Business Management.

• Apart from applying and appearing in AICE-JRF/SRF- (Ph.D), candidates need to submit an online application form of the university along with the application fee.

• Those who have appeared in ICAR’s AICE-JRF/SRF (Ph.D) are considered for the finalisation of the merit list of both normal and self-financing seats. 

• Fill online counselling proforma along with all relevant documents to be uploaded for which a separate notice will be displayed on the university website.

• However, admission to the Ph.D programme in the discipline of Business Management is made purely on the merit basis of the qualifying degree.

• Merit list of all candidates is drawn based on the score obtained in ICAR AICE JRF/SRF(PhD) except in the Ph.D Business Management programme where the merit list is drawn on the basis of marks of qualifying degree.

• Provisional allocation of the available seats is made during online/offline counselling in order of merit-cum-preference order of the degree programme in the college.

• Participate in online/offline counselling for admission to the Ph.D programme after preparation of the merit list.

• Verification of documents and payment of admission fee.
