Dr Yashwant Singh Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Nauni offers admission to Diploma in Fruits Vegetable Processing and Bakery Products, B.Sc.(Hons), M.Sc., M.B.A, M.B.A Agribusiness and Ph.D programmes. YSP University admission to the diploma programme is offered based on merit as determined by the 10+2 exam. Candidates must also participate in online/offline counselling for M.B.A. Agribusiness admission, which will take place after the merit list is prepared. For admission to the M.Sc programme, candidates have to appear for the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) AIEEA (PG) conducted by NTA. A merit list of candidates is prepared based on their performance in the ICAR AIEEA (PG). YSP University admission to the Ph.D programme is based on the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) AICE-JRF/SRF (Ph.D) conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) except for Ph.D Business Management. Admission to the Ph.D. programme in Business Management is based solely on the merit of the qualifying degree. After the preparation of the merit list, candidates must participate in online/offline counselling for admission to the Ph.D programme. Final admission is confirmed after verification of documents and YSP University admission fee payment.

Candidates seeking admission to the M.B.A programme have to fulfil the eligibility criteria.
Eligible have to register and appear for HPU MAT conducted by Himachal Pradesh University Business School for admission to the M.B.A programme.
Apart from HPU MAT, it is also mandatory for the candidates to submit an online application form along with the application fee by accessing the university website.
All candidates must complete and submit an online counselling proforma along with all required documents (for which a separate notice will be displayed on the university website).
The university will draw and display the list of eligible candidates who have appeared in the HPU MAT and successfully submitted the online application form for admission to M.B.A on the university website.
However, 75% of the seats shall be reserved for domiciles of Himachal Pradesh and 25% of the total seats are open to all at the national level.
Candidates who meet the HPU MAT cutoff criterion enter the selection process that includes a group discussion and personal interview.
The final selection is based on the candidate’s overall performance in the written test (HPU MAT), group discussion and personal interview as per the weightage given to the HPU MAT Examination (80%), group discussion (10%) and personal interview (10%).

However, admission to the Ph.D programme in the discipline of Business Management is made purely on the merit basis of the qualifying degree.

I have done BSc. (Hons) Forestry from Y.S Parmar University i found that quality of education is great if someone wants to crack IFoS it is the best place to gain knowledge. Study makes one ready for the forest related jobs
I studied bsc hons in forestery from this university because i wanted to get epertised in this feild only . I was provided with practical knowledge about the plants , soil during my graduations and i enjoyed that .
The teachers are well educated scientists and professors. We get to learn about the things practically as well as theoretically. As we are also working with farmers and have pursued industrial trainings I think we are job ready.
