The candidates should satisfy at least one of the following two criteria for admission to IITs:
(1) Must have secured at least 75% aggregate marks in the Class XII (or equivalent) Board examination. The aggregate marks for SC, ST, and PwD candidates should be at least 65%. Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics are required as compulsory subjects in Class XII (or equivalent) Board examination.
(2) Must be within the category-wise top 20 percentile of successful candidates in their respective Class XII (or equivalent) board examination.
The percentile calculation will be done for the required subjects in a single academic year only. Therefore, candidates appearing for improvement in Board examinations can EITHER appear in one or more subjects and secure 75% aggregate marks (65% for SC, ST, and PwD) after improvement, OR, appear for improvement in ALL subjects to be in top 20 percentile of the corresponding academic year.
• The marks scored in the following five subjects will be considered for calculating the aggregate marks and the cut-off marks for fulfilling the top 20 percentile criterion.
i. Physics
ii. Chemistry
iii. Mathematics
iv. A language (if the candidate has taken more than one language, then the language with the higher marks will be considered)
v. Any subject other than the above four (the subject with the highest marks will be considered).
Admission to Four-Year B.Tech. programme is made through the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) conducted jointly the IIT.
After clearing IIT JEE examination I was allotted IIT BHU. When I finally went to the campus for physical registration, ALL MY EXPECTATIONS OF AN IIT WERE DEEPLY HURT. The campus gave the vibe of a poorly managed government college. The infrastructure of the Lecture Theatres and the departmental buildings is really old and not very attractive. The hostels(except those which are newly constructed) are having really poor infrastructure and are not maintained properly. IIT BHU has an open campus due to which in spite of having a green campus it does not appear to be clean and healthy. Throughout the campus there is only one color combination of RED+CREAM. No other color is used in painting the buildings of this college which ultimately makes the campus very boring.
College infrastructure is good and you can get many facilities available here including different type of labs different books in the library and teachers are just pure class. their method of teahing is impeccable
Computer labs and wifi service are there. ACs that are in the classrooms are not-so-functional. Whiteboards and projects are the only equipments present in the classroom., infrastructure and equipment my iit bhu is having a good sources . Infrastructure is quite classy and professional.
