Bachelor of Technology in Civil Engineering is four years (8 Semester) full-time undergraduate Engineering program offered by the Indian Institute of Technology, Gandhinagar.

The discipline of Civil Engineering at IIT Gandhinagar focuses on a multifaceted growth of students and is designed to equip them not only with the core theoretical and practical fundamentals of the discipline, but also evolve them into confident individuals, ready to make an impact on whatsoever profession (industrial work, research, entrepreneurship) they choose to pursue. Currently, the department offers B. Tech. The students are offered a mixed blend of top-class theoretical, experimental, and design courses, such as Advanced Soil Mechanics, Finite Element Method, Continuum Mechanics, Remote Sensing of Land & Water Resources, Advanced Structural Analysis, Structural Dynamics, Stability and Control, Advanced Foundation Design, Mitigation of Design & Construction Challenges, and Structural Engineering in Practice.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidates should criteria for admission to IIT Gandhinagar:

The final examination of the 10+2 system, conducted by a Central or State Board recognized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
Intermediate or two-year Pre-University examination conducted by a Board or University recognized by the Association of Indian Universities.
Final examination of the two-year course of the Joint Services Wing of the National Defence Academy.
Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Institute of Open Schooling with a minimum of five subjects.
Any Public School, Board or University examination in India or in a foreign country recognized as equivalent to the 10+2 system by the AIU.
H.S.C. vocational examination.
A Diploma recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) or a State Board of Technical Education of at least 3 years duration.
General Certificate Education (GCE) examination (London, Cambridge or Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level.
High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University or International Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva.
Must have secured at least 75% aggregate marks in the Class XII (or equivalent) Board examination. The aggregate marks for SC, ST, and PwD candidates should be at least 65%.
Must be within the category-wise top 20 percentile of successful candidates in their respective Class XII (or equivalent) board examination.

Admission Details

The admission to the course is through the IIT Joint Entrance Examination (JEE).

College Infrastructure

Campus is newly built and further additional construction is going on. Classrooms are good however first year classes are held in halls. Food is good, however you become habitual to it and wont be eating that much at the mess. There are additional shops and a canteen for food. Whole campus has wifi facility, library has vast amount of resources.

College Infrastructure

Since, Indian Institute of Technology, Gandhinagar is one amongst the newly built IITs, it has great infrastructure and all the facilities and equipments. It is the only IIT other than IIT Jodhpur which has AC hostels. All the classrooms, hostel areas have Air conditioning facilities. The classrooms have smart boards and projectors. The hostel area is very clean. And till now IITGN is the only Institute in the country which has been awarded EAT RIGHT award for its 5 star rating of mess food.

I look forward for a great stay here

College Infrastructure

Our college has been awarded with the prize for the best mess facility among all the 23 IITs. The infrastructure is up to the mark. The reason being recent construction techniques being used. The hostels have refrigerator, water cooler, induction in each of its floor. The permanent sports complex will be finished by the end of this year. Libraries are well equiped with research papers, thesis and college ses to it that content from other colleges are available either in soft or the hard form.
