24 MonthsMaster of Science in Cognitive Science is two years (4 Semester) full-time postgraduate program in science stream offered by the Indian Institute of Technology, Gandhinagar.
The objective of the Master’s program is to offer students from different backgrounds, breadth of knowledge and research techniques in a wide range of areas in Cognitive Science. The MSc program will follow a structure of four semesters and registration during the summer in between. The total credits required for graduation would be eighty. The basic framework of the curriculum will include the core courses, electives, and a research project. List of representative courses is the following.
Core Courses: Cognitive Psychology | Computation, and Cognition | Philosophy of Mind |Fundamental Neuroscience |Research Methods | Experimental Techniques in Cognitive Science
MSc programme will be given a monthly scholarship of Rs 5,000.
Financial support up to Rs 60,000 is available for presenting their research work at international conferences.
Eligibility Criteria
BSc students from select colleges who will graduate in 2022 or have graduated in 2021 and are among the top 5 rank holders in the departments at the end of their pre-final year ( at the end of their final year for 2021 graduates) for candidates from General/EWS/OBC OR top 10 rank holders in the departments at the end of their pre-final year ( at the end of their final year for 2021 graduates) for candidates from SC/ST categories are eligible to apply.
BTech students from NITs and select colleges who will graduate in 2022 or have graduated in 2021 and are among the top 5 rank holders in the departments at the end of their pre-final year ( at the end of their final year for 2021 graduates) for candidates from General/EWS/OBC OR top 10 rand holders in the departments at the end of their pre-final year ( at the end of their final year for 2021 graduates) for candidates from SC/ST categories are eligible to apply.
BTech students from IITs who will graduate in 2022 or have graduated in 2021 with a CPI/CGPA of not less than 6.0 at the end of their 3rd year and 4th year respectively are eligible to apply.
Admission Details
Admission is generally offered on the basis of a written test and/or interview. The final selection will be mainly based on academic credentials, written test and/or interview.
In view of the current Covid-19 scenario all interviews will be done via online mode.
