Passed 10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Technical Vocational subject/ Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Informatics Practices/ Agriculture/ Engineering Graphics/ Business Studies. Obtained at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the above subjects taken together. OR Passed Diploma (in Engineering and Technology) examination with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) subject to vacancies in the First Year, in case the vacancies at lateral entry are exhausted.
Admission to this courses is done by Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced) Examination – JEE Advanced at All India level.
IIT (ISM) Dhanbad offers an outstanding blend of heritage and modern infrastructure. The Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad, commonly known as IIT (ISM) Dhanbad, is a premier public technical university located in Dhanbad, Jharkhand. Established in 1926 as the Indian School of Mines to address the country's mining needs, it was officially granted IIT status in 2016.
Many people don't know about the college because of it being a lower IIT, ROI of this college is very good for which one prefer this college to other colleges present in the same league. Faculties are highly experienced. One can get good industry exposure by working in so many projects offered to the students. The dorm life is fun but it is very small and congested and the college administration takes special interest in ensuring that students co-curricular and extra-curricular exposure is at par with the best colleges around. Campus is huge and scenic, that too at the heart of the city. Placement can be best described at as Average at this point, but it is slowly improving with more of the alumni rising into prominence in the corporate world
