Master of Science in Life Sciences is two years full-time course degree offered by Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. A student pursuing a course in M.Sc. Life Sciences has to complete 64 credits and has to take both core courses and optional courses spread over four semesters, and practical courses in the first two semesters. During the final two semesters, students also have to carry out a research project on a specific topic under the supervision of a faculty member in a laboratory and submit a dissertation for evaluation by a committee of experts followed by open oral presentation defending the project. Students also have to present a seminar and submit a term paper on a current topic in life sciences. The final evaluation for the grades is on a 9.0 point scale Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA).

Eligibility Criteria

A candidate must have passed the Bachelor’s (B.Sc. or B.Tech or equivalent) in Biological, Physical or Agricultural Sciences or Biotechnology under the 10+2+3 pattern of education with at least 55% marks.

Admission Details

The selection in the Master degree is based performance on the Entrance Exam.

College Infrastructure

Can't say for other depts but Life Sciences does have almost all the required facilities. Availability of equipment in individual labs varies according to individual funds of the lab. Maintenance can be better.

What I feel for JNU can not be explained in words.

College Infrastructure

Infrastructure is unique and every building is beautiful. Facilities provided by the university is amazing. Food varies from hostel to hostel and cleaning varies as well. But where I stayed it was really clean and hygienic.

Jnu is one of the best university in india.

College Infrastructure

Library is good having all the book that are required for course.however no of books are not sufficient. Wifi connection is also good. Hostel are clean and in good condition.Food are also hygenic. Lab are also good.
