Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies, Kochi Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

The University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies provides hostel accommodation for boys with all basic amenities. 

The university hostel has a large courtyard in the traditional Kerala style that students use as a volleyball court. There is also a table tennis table for students on the first floor of the hostel. There is also a common study room,  and many other facilities are also available to the students.

The University Central Library has a collection of books, journals, and e-resources related to various fields of agriculture, fisheries, and oceanography. Students and teachers can avail of various services, such as internet-based services, reference, inter-library loans, document delivery, and reprography services.

The university has excellent facilities and infrastructure for a wide range of games and sports. KUFOS Kochi sports facilities include 2 basketball courts, 2 volleyball courts, 2 shuttle badminton courts, 4 table tennis boards, and a full-fledged fitness center. Under the direction of the physical education instructor, students participate in all of the various sporting events and game activities.

The University provides financial support for the university's computer lab, which is very well equipped. The university provides high-speed internet facilities to all students and faculty. The library also offers free wireless Internet access for students to access digital resources.

The university offers transportation facilities for its students and staff, with bus services operating between the campus and various city locations.

The university has well-equipped laboratories that serve as hubs for both practical learning and research activities. These include labs dedicated to aquaculture, biology, molecular biology, hydrography, fishing technology, water and soil chemistry, biochemistry, microbiology, fish processing, food processing, biotechnology, physical oceanography, and biological oceanography, among others.

The university's swimming pool features four lanes, starting blocks, a diving springboard, and separate changing facilities for male and female students. For the safety of the students, lifeguard services are available, and the water is kept clean with an automatic purification system.

The university features a guest house located on the northeast side of the campus. This facility offers both air-conditioned and non-air-conditioned rooms for staff use, whether for official duties or personal needs. Additionally, it serves as accommodation for guest speakers and participants attending seminars and conferences.

The university also has a well-equipped gymnasium on campus.

The university medical facilities to maintain the proper health of staff and students are available on the University campus. For that, a Medical Practitioner service will be available on Tuesday and Friday every week from 3 pm to 7 pm

The University has a canteen facility sponsored by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), which provides food at a rebate rate.

The University placement cell under each Faculty ensures a maximum number of placements for the graduates and post-graduates of the University. Export Inspection Agency and Seafood Exporters Association of India (Kerala region), Kochi through a Memorandum of Understanding has agreed to provide training and placement to students every year. Many students of the University opt to go abroad for higher studies, doctoral programs, and satisfying job prospects.
