Best law college

The college has all the infrastructure required. The college already has tied up with the leading law firms in India and outside India. College life is so enjoyable because of the endless opportunities that are being provided. I am still in my starting years at college so I do not have a pre-placement offer as of yet. Hostels have table tennis tables, a tv, volleyball, snooker and pool tables. All the professors are exceptional at this college! The student crowd is diverse with people from everywhere coming to this college. The college may be a little expensive but they do give scholarships to students who can't afford it.

NALSAR University is one of India's first law schools. The campus covers a large area of land and is beautiful and serene. The Academic block is very well designed to accommodate the classrooms, administrative offices, faculty rooms and seminar rooms and etc. There is a conference hall that can accommodate a large number of students and it has excellent video conference facilities. The University has a huge auditorium which hosts all the important events of the University. The administration invests in the maintenance of the hostels and the other buildings quite frequently to keep it in a good shape. The University offers a large number of courses in the form of electives and seminars and this gives the students enough scope to pursue the course they are interested in. These courses are conducted by both in-house and visiting faculties over the entire semester. The University also has a number of reputed journals which has both students, faculties and other scholars in the editorial board. The University has a Policy Lecture Group which hosts various people from different fields like judges, academicians, senior advocates, journalists, etc. who come down to the University for discussions and to deliver lectures. There is an active student body which has different committees looking into different issues of the college. This student body consists of elected members from each batch and they work as student representation to the administration. This way the students learn to elect judiciously and also sort out their own issues. There is always some form of activity happening in the campus to keep the college life vibrant. NALSAR hosts one of the best debate tournament called the NALSAR IV which has very active participation from colleges from all over the country. Also the Justice B.R.Sawhney memorial Moot Court Competition is conducted every year which witnesses participation from various law schools from all over the country. Other than that NALSAR also hosts quiz fests, literary fest and other such tournaments which witnesses huge turn outs from all over the country. There are year round festivals and activities within the campus where the students participate as well as organise for fun and to display their skills. The sports committee of NALSAR also organises various events all round the year to keep the students involved in sporting activities. Movie screening takes place on many weekends for students to enjoy themselves. The hostels are well maintained and the campus has central Wifi connection. The library of NALSAR has a very good collection of books and journals of all fields of law. The library books serves as a very useful source for the students in their academic preparation. There is bus service from the University to the city and back so that the location being away from the city does not bother the students. The moot teams representing the University has done very well in both national and international moot court competitions over the years. The University has also seen good placement over the years and the hard-work of the students and the University is the reason for the same. Top national and international firms have come to recruit students and offer them internships. There is a very active student run recruitment and internship coordination committee for this purpose. The University like any other University has its own set of difficulties but they are negligible. Overall the NALSAR University has always shown excellence for a long time and there is no turning back.

This is what NALSAR is all about...

Well, to answer the question whether how good or bad NALSAR is, I'll list down the following points. By the end, they must be sufficient to answer the query which might be running in your head. 1. Infrastructure: The Classrooms are big, well ventilated with greenery all around. Seriously, the entire campus is so green and well maintained that if you don't have the worry of studying Law for FIVE years, you'll feel as if you are in a five-star resort. Apart from this, we have a pretty well-stocked library which is always updated according to the demand of students. One problem which a couple of people might complain about is the absence of air conditioner in the classrooms. But I don't think that is something significant enough as most of the time we have lovely weather. 2. Is something missing at NALSAR? There are one essential which is missing most of the time and also when presently is not up to the mark. This one thing is the availability of a good physician. We have ambulance service, full time on campus nurse. But what we lack is a well-qualified physician. This issue turns more significant when we consider the fact that NALSAR is Wayyy.....(really a lot) far away from the city. Nearest hospital which a person can approach in the case of emergency is also at least 20 KM away. 3. Is my college happening - Oh yes it is.... We conduct India's biggest and one of the oldest British Parliamentary debate. Other than that, NALSAR organises multiple other events such as Interrobang (the quiz fest), Lit fest and many other things are always happening. Other than we all the year round we have regional fest such as Awadh Magadh, Rajasthani fest and much more where people represent their culture and serve awesome food and cheer us up with their awesome performances. And finally, we have our Intra College fest - 'Carpe Diem'. It is a cocktail of fun in which entire college participates. 4. Academics and Placement- Something which almost everyone considers serious and can't accept any compromise. As most of the people know, the placement in NALSAR is one of the USP with which everyone gets attracted to the college. The placement percentage is really high compared to other colleges. With regard to academics, our college has good standards. Students qualify for Rhodes Scholarship. Also, teams perform well in both international and National level Moots. The above pointers would help a person in understanding how NALSAR is.

Our college has a state of the art library, auditorium, and a multitude of conference halls used by frequent guest speakers. Our college has an excellent set of alumnus and constantly exposes us to the best legal minds of the country by inviting them for speaking at our college at least once a month. The college itself boasts of a fantastic curriculum, which is flexible enough for exploring our interests.

The college in itself is beautiful, the culture here is vast and diverse. It can be hectic and peaceful, it can be noisy or quiet, the campus brings all sorts under one roof and the interaction that takes place thereafter is interesting, to say the least, sometimes conversation are thought-provoking some just silly. This campus is an experience that can't be summed up in words because everyone that comes here takes away something unique for themselves.

The college provides fees concession and scholarships from its side beside the Government scholarships which cover 75% of the total fees. The quality of the input is high as the top CLAT crackers prefer this college. Sanitation and Facilities are awesome in hostels and each hostel has a TV and a pool table/Table tennis. Our Campus Placement is 100% every year. The 3-month vacation every year provides a good time to do internships for a student to enhance corporate exposure.

NALSAR has all required infrastructure but it may not be of the best quality. However, no complaints about regard to infrastructure seeing that at least everything is provided. The college already has a lot of corporate exposure. With nearly half the batch going into the corporate field there is no need for more exposure. The endless opportunities provided by the college. I was offered a journalism contract but since I still have a lot of time left I will not take that contract. I expected faster internet and better washroom facilities. All the teachers are exceptional teachers excelling in their own respective fields. Some can convey their messages easier than others. The crowd is diverse: with students coming from all the corners of India and even outside India! The college is not the cheapest law college in India. You may need to think twice before coming here... Well not really, it's arguably the best law college in South Asia so don't think twice.

Firstly, an amazing ambiance. Greenery is worth praising. The most beautiful campus among all Nlus. Excellent placements. Perfect, if targeting corporate. You can explore a lot. Great exposure. Good hostel life, food at times depresses you, but then quite manageable. It's far away from the city, which pisses you off when you want to walk out. Diversity is great. Lastly, bit expensive.

Infrastructure is fantabulous. You can explore many things and get sufficient opportunities to expose your talent. Once you are here, a decent study throughout your course will easily fetch you a well-paid job. Hostel and food are decent and better if you are a non-vegetarian. Rest, You get a good exposure.

NALSAR is one of the premier law colleges of India and being a student here I am proud to say that it has everything to offer to a budding lawyer that an Institute should offer. It has been more than 3 years here and our Institute has offered us industry exposure with brilliant campus facilities including a resourceful library. It is a place to be.

Nalsar has everything that acknowledges it to come about in the top law colleges in India. From the faculty to the infrastructure, to placement opportunities, to campus life, to exponential exposure it gives you to grow as a dynamic person. One drawback could be masters placement, which should be looked upon with greater insight. Rest nothing stops this institution from you vouching for an admission into it.

Nalsar has plethora of educational and infrastructural facilities for its students .Masters program(LLM) has one of the most unique curricula among top law schools in India as the concept of Mandatory Electives , Optional Electives ,Seminar papers ,Single credit course allows you to make your own Specialization. Stay at Nalsar is like a Resort like experience as the hostels are built in lush green areas .hostel facilities are good but a bit needs to be done about cleanliness. Mess Food has a good old flavor of Hyderabad , and a paradise for Non Veg Foodies .

The Heaven you've been waiting for

NALSAR University of Law; well a law institution which doesn't really require any introduction cum appreciation. The world today knows about this top notch law school, but for the sake of those people who are still ignorant of it (I'm not being sarcastic, you can't be a King of all the fields) I'm providing this review. Academics- The course structure is pretty chill. 5 years, 10 semesters, 20 examination schedules. There used to be a practice of weekly tests, which the institution followed long back, but now it is done away with. Apart from the exams, you are required to work upon 5 research papers cum project which covers 25% of the semester marks. This practice makes student think like a lawyer from the very first year as he or she needs to be critical of his or her approach by weighing the pros and cons of a particular topic without being biased. Campus life- Campus life is phenomenal but then the college isn't the one which is owned by dharma productions. Also the competitive peer group proves to be beneficial as it also plays a vital role in your overall development of the legal acumen. The place grows on you with time to such an extent that you stay in the hostels while your vacations are going on. Obviously this happens in you 4th or 5th year (at times). Also there's a lot of activity which takes place part from studies in the campus and you need to have your priorities as you may end up being bamboozle. Fests- Carpediem is the annual fest in which other universities are invited. Apart from it we use to have regional fests as well like awards made, south fest, Punjabi fest, Rajasthani fest etc. So, the fun goes on throughout the year. Also, lots of competition of debates (NALSAR IV is the best British Parliamentary Debating Competition of the country), moots, theaters, quizzes takes place which are responsible for a students overall development. Food- It is okay-ish, or at least much better than the food provided in hostels of other colleges. Last but not the least, the student organization of NALSAR is the backbone of the universities smooth functioning. Therefore, a student's need is taken well care off by the other fellow NALSARites.

NALSAR has good infrastructural facilities with an excellent library but it should have a cafeteria too. Guest lectures and conferences have chances of enhancing corporate exposure by gaining the attention of the speaker who can be helpful for seeking internships. College life could be more happening by an increase in extra-curricular activities. NALSAR has good placement record for U.G but it should provide placements to LL.M students too. Better cleanliness in hostel. The crowd of NALSAR is extremely good.

NALSAR has been a real bliss. This 5-year period on this platform has led me to widen my skill, exposure to various aspects available to a law student like mooting, internships etc. The tagline gave 'Home away from home', is certainly apt for NALSAR. Moreover, a student graduating from NALSAR University need not worry much about the placement as eventually he/she has a plethora of experience and knowledge which any law firm would require from its associates. I am glad to be a part of such academic institution where the teachers are willing to provide help for any academic or other aspirations at any hour of the day. Hostels are stress-busters in NALSAR where you stay, play and party with your friends and get the same amount of privacy which is equally important. The fact that the whole campus is WiFi enabled with a speed of at least 800 Kbps compels me to write about the same. It is a great opportunity to learn from the gems of NALSAR faculty is what one would get in NALSAR and is one of the best experiences. NALSAR accommodates students from various states of India and being a part of the same, one gets to know about the culture, tradition and a lot more interesting things about their states and share the same about oneself with them. The University provides various scholarship programs which help students to pay their fees in cases of financial drawbacks.

WANNA SURF IN THE SEA OF LAW GET INTO NALSAR

nishu bhushan
Posted on 09 Apr' 15 by nishu bhushan
The journey through 5thyear in law school involved a lot of mental dissection of the past 4 years of my life – Has law school lived up to my expectations? Have I lived up to its expectations? How has NALSAR changed me and how much has it changed itself? While these thoughts could run into reams and reams of paper, there is one succinct way to sum up it all up – I have had a taste of the best there is, and I can’t imagine having been anywhere but here, at NALSAR. I must add at this point that my views on NALSAR are entirely my own and I would suggest considering them with the proverbial ‘pinch of salt’ – as there will be the inescapable subjectivity that comes with having spent nearly half a decade of your life in one institute and having integrated into its way of life. The NALSAR Campus and Infrastructure One of the first things that struck me about NALSAR was the dignified perfection that the campus exuded – the well manicured lawns, the dignified grey and white buildings, the red tiled hostel roofs (I could go on and on!). We have very well maintained hostels and everyone is promised a single occupancy room from their 4thyear onwards. Our classrooms too are bright and big and well equipped. The library (the most important part of any law school) is a nice, quiet place where you can always hope to get your work done (and oh yes, we have a good collection of books and online databases too – but I won’t get into the technical details which I’m sure can be gathered from the website and prospectus). There is very little to complain about the infrastructure of the place, except perhaps the need for more varied eating options on campus. We have however addressed this problem by becoming regular visitors of the multitude of affordable dhabas that surround our campus. Academics and Co-curricular Activities When it comes to academics and co-curricular activities, your law school experience almost entirely depends on your own choices and motivations. The best part about NALSAR is the kind of platform and opportunities that it gives you. The past 4 years have definitely been challenging – meeting the standards set by some of the brightest minds across the country is definitely an uphill task. I would say that the kind of people you get to interact with at NALSAR is one of the best perks of the place. Initially I was overwhelmed by the brilliance and intelligence of my peers and seniors, but soon this atmosphere will shape you into emulating some of these qualities that you look up to and admire. Faculty Having said that, I should also add that there is room for improvement in the teaching faculty. But then again, faculty crunch issues plague every law school and are not confined to NALSAR alone. So, in the end this is perhaps the best situation you could hope for, given the larger picture of the ‘quality teaching’ issues that affect all of India’s educational institutions. Jobs and Placement at NALSAR Excellent placement is one of the best perks of NALSAR – 100% placement is always the case. The pay packages are around 12-15 lakhs per annum at the top Indian law firms. This year, my batch has broken previous records by securing jobs for a huge chunk of students by the end of 4th year itself. The top law firms were so keen on recruiting that they wished to come even before we entered our final year. The five years you spend in law school are perhaps most valuable for the kind of intellectual abilities that it inculcates in you – these are skills that will serve you well through whatever you may choose to do in your life. NALSAR has definitely opened up my mind and horizons, and will always be an integral part of who I am and will become.
