If you have option between VIT Vellore and SRM , go for VIT anytime. It has better infrastructure,teaching staff and so many more opportunity. Many super dream company visit VIT for placement.The highest package for M.Tech goes upto 15-16 lakh.Also the environment is reall good there .

Yes there are different types of scholarship's are provides by SRM University for 1st year students such as SRM Founder’s Scholarship ,SRM Merit Scholarship  ,  Differently Abled Scholarship  but the eligibility criteria  is different  for every scholarship and concession  is also different .

When compared colleges VIT university has more ratings, here are the differences I'm describing you can choose accordingly
.
SRM university;

• It is ranked with 4.0 rating
• Deemed university
• Ranked 3rd in India for B.tech
• Placement facilities are not that good
• Infrastructure is highly developed
• Faculty is good

I really dont want to compare this, but I would straight away say that go for SRM Main campus if you are getting it. VIT is still developing and is no where to compare with SRM.

VIT is situated atleast 40 km from the Bhopal city and it is hard
