Yes,he can join in SRM as the admission are open now in the official website https://applications.srmuniv.ac.in/btech .

You need to pay an application fee of Rs.1100 for admission which in non refundable.

The main preference for SRM will be KATTANKULATHUR Campus which is the main campus  For amaravathi you can be in the rank of 10000 - 25,000.That mean first 2 days of the counselling. 

Admission in SRM is purely based on Rank. The ranks will decide you the branch and campus you want to opt. Rank also depends on Date of counselling.

On basis of previous cut off and career 360 if you get above 200 you have chances and eligible to get cse in srm main campus and also in other campuses
