Master of Business Administration (MBA) is a two-year full-time postgraduate course and it is offered by the National Institute of Technology Silchar.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidate must hold a bachelor degree with at least 50% marks or 5.5 in CP/CGPA (in case of the candidate belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC) / Scheduled Tribe (ST) / Differently Abled (DA) or Persons with Disabilities ( PWD) category, a relaxation of 5 % or 0.5 in CGPA/ CPI on a 10 point scale may be extended for the Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be Deemed, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, The government of India.
Regular Full-Time Bachelor Degree in Science/Humanities/Technology or equivalent in an appropriate area, with at least 5U% marks or 5.5 in CPI/CGPA Correspondence courses offered through Distance Learning Mode duly authorized by DDE and IGNOU will only be considered.
In case of Graduation Degree (Pass) only Pass subjects will be considered for percentage calculation and for Graduation Degree (Honours) percentage in Honours papers will be considered.
A valid CAT/MAT/CMAT score (i.e. tests held from September, 20l7onwards) with minimum cut-off 50 percentile.
A relaxation of 5% of marks or 0.5 in GPA/CP1 oil a 10 point scale shall be extended to the candidates belonging to SC/ST/PWD category.
Students appearing at their final year graduation examination may also apply. However, the result awaited candidates are required to submit a statement of marks or PI/CGPA duly ratified by their respective University/Institutions (As per
Annexure-V). Such candidates, if selected, will be admitted provisionally, on the condition that they complete all requirements for the qualifying degree with minimum marks or CPI/CGPA stipulated above, before the commencement of the programme and have to produce provisional pass certificate/mark sheet of completion of the COUSC within 15th September 2018, failing which their admission will stand canceled.

Admission Details

The Department shall carry a three-step process to admit students into MBA programme:

Screening of applications on the basis of academic performance and performance of the student in the entrance exam (CAT/MAT/CMAT),
Performance in Group Discussion,
Performance in Personal Interview.

Applicants satisfying minimum eligibility criteria will be called for Group Discussion and Personal Interview. If the number of applicants are found reasonably high, Department may set an elimination stage after Group Discussion. In all other cases, final selection will be based on academic career and score of prescribed Entrance Examination, performance in Group Discussion and Personal Interview.
