Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) is a two-year full-time diploma program offered by the State Council of Educational Research and Training, Assam and approved by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).

Eligibility Criteria

i) The applicant must have passed the 10+2 examination from recognized Boards/Councils with at least 50% marks in aggregate excluding marks secured in extra optional. For candidates belonging to the SC/ ST category, there will be a relaxation of 5% of marks in aggregate. OR, Graduation in Arts/Science/Commerce stream from a recognized University;

ii) The applicant must be a citizen of India and a permanent resident of Assam;

iii) The age of the applicant must not be less than 18 years and not more than 34 years and 36 years for SC/ST categories.

iv) Must have the ability to write, read, and converse fluently in a regional language.

Admission Details

The candidates have to appear in a PRE ENTRY TEST (PET) for 100 marks conducted by SCERT, Assam and qualified candidates will be selected for the course. Selection will be made purely on a merit basis depending on the total marks obtained in the Pre-Entry Test and in HSSLC/Graduation Examinations. SCERT Assam sends the list of selected candidates to the college.
