Since its inception the sole aim of the college has been to impart holistic and quality education to young women of this region through a wide range of scholastic and co-scholastic activities. Birjhora Kanya Mahavidyalaya, Bongaigaon adheres to the framework of the Gauhati University while progressing with the curriculum of the undergraduate courses.  

Birjhora Kanya Mahavidyalaya, Bongaigaon offers a lot of courses and subjects for students to choose from-2 years higher secondary course in Arts(10+2), 3/4 years degree course in arts (General & Major). The subjects that are offered during the higher secondary are English (Compulsory), M.IL (Assamese, Bengali), alternative English. A student has to take 3 subjects (those willing can take another one as fourth subject) from the following : Economics, History, Education, Political Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Advance Assamese, Logic and Philosophy. The UG degree course subject options for the regular programme are- English (Other Language), MIL (Assamese, Bengali), Economics, Political Science, Education, History, Philosophy, Statistics, and Mathematics. While the subject options for the honours programme are- Assamese, Bengali, Economics, Education, English, History, Philosophy, and Political Science. A candidate has to meet the eligibility criteria before applying for admission into any of the programmes.
