    The Department of Chemical and Petro-Chemical Engineering offers separate but related degree programmes in Chemical Engineering, Petro-Chemical Engineering. Chemical engineers deal principally with production of chemicals from various raw materials and compounds and are also responsible for the extraction and processing of minerals. They design, build, operate and manage the plants for physical, thermal or chemical processing of materials to obtain consumable goods and products such as food and beverages, plastics, soaps and detergents, fertilisers, cement, pharmaceuticals and refined petroleum products. Petro-Chemical engineers apply modern knowledge of geology and physics for the assessment, exploration and production of hydrocarbons such as crude oils and natural gas. They produce uninterrupted supply of oils used by chemical engineers to make various goods and also for energy generation.

    Eligibility Criteria

    Candidates applying for B.Tech.(4years), Course should fulfill the following criteria. Candidates who have passed 10+2 examination or appearing in 10+2 examination are eligible to apply for B.Tech (4 years), course of the University.

    Should have studied in regular full time formal education in their schooling/college. Pass in 10+2 or its equivalent with at least 45% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics taken together.

    B.Tech Lateral Entry - Passed or appearing in 2017, in three year diploma examination (two year in case of Lateral entry Diploma) in Engineering / Technology from State Council of Technical Education and Training (SCTE and VT), Odisha or from an AICTE approved Institute / from a recognized University as defined by UGC with at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST category) in appropriate branch of Engineering /  Technology. Results of final diploma examination must be available on the date of counseling.

    Admission Details

    The admission shall be on the basis of CUEE / JEE MAIN / AIEEE or any National Level Entrance Test.
