72 MonthsPh.D. program in Geology and Environmental Science shall be for a minimum duration of three years, including course work and a maximum of six years. Extension beyond the above limits will be governed by the relevant clauses as stipulated in the Statute/Ordinance of the individual Institution concerned. This Ph.D. program offered by the University of Calicut, Malappuram.
Candidate should have passed Master Degree Examination or a professional degree recognized as equivalent by University of Calicut with at least grade ‘B’ in the UGC 7-point scale or equivalent or at least 55% marks.
Candidates who have passed M.Phil. degree with a minimum of grade ‘B’ in the UGC 7-point scale with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent are eligible to do research work leading to the Ph.D. degree.
Candidates belonging to SC/ST categories will be given a relaxation of 10% and OBC candidates will be given a relaxation of 5%.
Exemption
The following candidates are exempted from appearing for the Calicut University Ph.D registration Entrance Exam-
Students with JRF can apply directly through the College Research Committee. Other candidates have to appear for the entrance examination of the University.
