College of Engineering, Cherthala was established by the Government of Kerala to provide higher education through its technical and professional undergraduate and postgraduate degree courses. College of Engineering Cherthala courses include B.Tech, M.Tech and MCA programmes. The college invites yearly admission in these courses through the rules laid down by the state government of Kerala. For College of Engineering Cherthala admissions to B.Tech courses, the applicants need to qualify for the Kerala Engineering Architecture & Medical (KEAM) examination.
Qualified candidates should then appear for the KEAM B.Tech counselling conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance Examination (CEE), Government of Kerala. Similarly, for M.Tech admission, the applicant must obtain a relevant graduation degree and have a valid GATE score. Such applicants must appear for the M.Tech counselling rounds, conducted by the Department of Technical Education (DTE), Kerala. The admission will depend on the candidate's score in the relevant entrance exam as well as the choice-filling preference provided by them.
Besides, the College of Engineering Cherthala provides various infrastructure facilities such as hostel accommodation for students, a college library, classrooms, lecture halls and other such facilities, provided for the convenience of students. The college also has an active placement department, which oversees the placement activities for the college. The college is managed by the Institute of Human Resources Development. College of Engineering Cherthala is affiliated with APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University, Thiruvananthapuram.
