The Directorate of Distance Education, Kuvempu University, Shankaraghatta (DDE-KU) has become a distinguished distance education institution with a global reputation in Karnataka. It offers a plethora of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes catering to students with varied opportunities for quality distance learning. Directorate of Distance Education admission process generally starts from August to September for the particular academic year. The university offers several programmes, including BA, B.Sc, B.Com, BBA, MA, M.Sc, M.Com, and MBA, to name a few. 

The generally followed process for DDE-KU programmes includes:

The admission for BA programmes is defined by the performance of candidates in the 10+2 examination and an entrance test is not required for these programmes.

Directorate of Distance Education B.Sc. Admission Process

B.Sc Programmes: The institute offers B.Sc programmes in combinations such as Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Chemistry, Botany, and Zoology. Admission is granted on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination, namely the 10+2 in the relevant science subjects.

Library and Information Science: B.Lib.I.Sc and M.Lib.I.Sc are both offered by DDE-KU. The B.Lib.I.Sc programme is open to graduates from any discipline; however, M.Lib.I.Sc usually demands a B.Lib.I.Sc degree.
