Faculty of Engineering and Technology has remained reputable enough in the institution's circles, attracting a good number of engineering disciplines at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Faculty of Engineering and Technology admission process is set to choose the best-qualified candidates for different engineering programmes. The admission procedure at the institution is strictly based on entrance examinations conducted at the state level for various programmes.
Undergraduate admissions happen through the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission (TNEA) process. This is a uniform method meant to ensure a fair, merit-oriented selection of candidates for BE (Bachelor of Engineering) courses. The TNEA takes performance in the 10+2 or equivalent examinations into account, specifically for Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics subjects.
The ME (Master of Engineering), particularly attends to postgraduate admissions in Faculty of Engineering and Technology is through the Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET). This is a state-level examination aimed at measuring the aptitude and knowledge assessment of each person in specific branches of engineering.

The Faculty offers 13 BE programmes, among which there are newer programmes like Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Data Science, and standard undergraduate programmes such as Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical Engineering. Faculty of Engineering and Technology admission to all BE programmes is through the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission (TNEA) procedure. The intake capacity also differs from one specialisation to another as it ranges between 60 to 120 seats per course. Candidates must have completed their 10+2 levels with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as core subjects.
It offers 15 ME programmes by way of specialisation, which include Communication Systems, Environmental Engineering, and Structural Engineering. Faculty of Engineering and Technology admission to ME programmes is through the Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET). Each ME programme generally holds a total intake of 18 seats, subject to variations, as for example, Chemical Engineering and Geotechnical Engineering have 9 seats each. The eligibility criterion for admission into ME programmes is a relevant BE/B.Tech degree.
This faculty also offers a Diploma in Mining Engineering. Faculty of Engineering and Technology admission to this diploma course are not provided, but the admission procedure would presumably be according to state level guidelines for diploma courses.
