What’s new at GCW, Srinagar?

• On 20th September 2023, The Government College for Women, M A Road Srinagar organised a one-day Science event in collaboration with the Department of Science and Technology.

Government College for Women, established in 1950, is a distinguished institution of higher education situated in the heart of the capital city, Srinagar. It is also a constituent college of Cluster University of Srinagar, Srinagar. The Government College for Women (GCW) in Srinagar provides a diverse range of courses for women in various academic streams, including Science, Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, and Computer Application and IT. The academic programmes offered by GCW consist of B.Sc, BA, BA Hons, and MCA (Integrated), along with a certification course in Educational Guidance and Curriculum Construction. To get admission to GCW Srinagar's undergraduate courses, female candidates must take the CUET(UG), obtain a valid score and apply for J&K common seat allocation system (JKCSAS). 

Government College for Women Srinagar provides a variety of facilities to its female students. The facilities include hostels for girls, sports playgrounds and courts, medical facilities, a well-equipped library and transportation facilities. GCW campus provides a learning environment to its students.

Government College for Women is situated on MA Road, Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir. GCW Srinagar is about 12 km from Srinagar Railway Station and takes about 25 minutes to reach. The Srinagar International Airport, (J&K) is 10 km from Government College for Women and takes about 30 minutes to reach via a 4-wheeler. One can hire a taxi or cab from the respective junction to reach the GCW Srinagar campus.
