Government College, Jaipur Admission Process

Government College, Jaipur is one of the leading affiliated colleges in Rajasthan. It offers a vast spectrum of undergraduate and postgraduate programs in Arts, Commerce, and Sciences. The admission procedure at Government College, Jaipur is committed to both transparency and accessibility for all eligible candidates in consonance with the university's regulations. 

Admission eligibility criteria widely vary, depending on the programs. In the case of undergraduate programs, candidates seeking BA and B.Com. B.Sc. admission must have completed the 10+2 examinations from an authorized recognized board with an adequate percentage. The candidates for admission into the MA Geography program must hold a bachelor's degree in the relevant subject. 

Application Procedures

Application to Government College, Jaipur is fairly simple and user-friendly. The procedure broadly goes like this:

1. The college announces admission through the official website and local media.

2. Assignment of Application Forms. Candidates must procure and fill out their application forms. These may be available online on the said college website or could be availed of in person from the college admission office.

3. Submission of documents: Along with the application form, the candidates must also submit the following for admission:

a. Mark sheets of qualifying examinations (10th, 12th for UG programs; Graduation mark sheets for PG programs)
b. Pass certificate from qualifying examinations
c. Character certificate from the last attended institution
d. Migration certificate (if applicable)
e. Caste certificate (for reserved category candidates)
f. Recent passport-size photographs

4. Application Fee: The candidates are bound to deposit the application fee prescribed. The fee amount may vary for different categories of students.

5. Preparation of merit lists: For the merit list preparation, the college considers the candidate's performance in the qualifying examinations subject to the reservation policy of the state government.

6. Counselling and Seat Allotment: Candidates who are shortlisted will be called for counselling, where allotment of seats will be done based on merits and availability.

7. Fee Payment: Candidates selected must pay the admission fee in the stipulated time limit, in order to retain their seat.

8. Document Verification: At this stage the college undertakes an exhaustive verification of all the documents submitted before confirming the admission.

Degree wise Admission Process

BA (Bachelor of Arts): The BA course is a holistic program at the college. Admission is offered on the basis of marks in the 10+2 examination, especially in subjects related to the specialization chosen by the applicant in Arts. 

B.Com (Bachelor of Commerce): The B.Com program considers admissions based on the 10+2 examination with emphasis on subjects relevant to commerce.

B.Sc (Bachelor of Science): The B.Sc. program offers two options for candidates:

a) B.Sc Maths group: Admissions will be based on 10 + 2 scores with very focused attention on Mathematics and other Science subjects.
b) B.Sc Bio Group: The assessment of candidates applying for admission to this program is based on 10 + 2 scores, especially in Biology and other Science subjects.

MA Geography: This is a PG program in the college. Admission to the MA Geography program is likely based on the performance of the candidate in the graduate degree, preferably in Geography or related subjects.
