Government Girls Post Graduate College, Ujjain Admission 2025: Dates, Registration, Fees, Eligibility

The premier institution of higher learning for women in Ujjain as Government Girls Post Graduate College. The college offers courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels in a variety of subjects, such as arts, commerce, and sciences, and merits selection of students for admission into the programs based on admission timetables. Most admissions into GGPGC are held annually in May and June for the academic year commencing July and August.  Applications for each course are invited by the college in a year during the May and June periods.

Eligibility criteria for admission to the college at different levels vary according to the program. In fact, the undergraduate programs required a successful passing of a 10+2 education by a candidate from a recognized board. For postgraduate applicants, a bachelor's degree from a recognized university in the relevant discipline was required. GGPGC carries out high-quality education for female students and maintains a high standard in its admission procedure. It is an institution accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) for maintaining quality standards in education.

Application Process

The following steps constitute the admission process into Government Girls Post Graduate College, Ujjain:

1. Announcement of Admissions: In May-June and then various other forms beside the college website announce the invitation for admissions in the college. 

2. Application Form: Candidates will have to get and complete the application form concerning their desired program, available online and offline.

3. Documents Submission: With completed application forms, candidates will also have to present the following documents:

• Marks sheet(s) of qualifying examinations (10th, 12th, or graduation)
• Transfer Certificate from the last institution attended
• Character Certificate
• Caste Certificate (if applicable)
• Recent passport-sized photographs

4. Submission of Application: Application forms complete with required documents shall all be received at the college admission office before the set deadline.

5. Merit List Preparation: On the basis of the candidates' performances in the qualifying examinations, the college makes a merit list. 

6. Counseling and Seat Allocation: There could be counseling events for any successful shortlisted candidates, including allocating seats depending on merit and availability.

7. Fee Submission: Selected candidates will pay the prescribed fee for admission during the stipulated time period to reserve a seat in the College. 

8. Document Verification: Admissions can be confirmed after a thorough verification of all documents submitted to the colleges at this stage.

Admission Process Degree Wise

B.A.: The program of B.A. at GGPGC has been approved for an intake of 250 students. Admission takes place on the basis of merit assessed through the 10+2 examinations. There are various subjects offered by the college in the B.A. program so that students can select a combination they like the most.

B.Com: GGPGC has an approved intake of 50 students in the Bachelor of Commerce program. The eligibility criteria for admission into this program are the marks obtained in the qualifying 10+2 examination, focused on commerce subjects.

B.Sc: More than one B.Sc program of GGPGC includes different subject combinations:

1. Home Science (B.Sc.) (approved intake: 50 students)
2. B.Sc. in Botany, Chemistry, and Zoology (approved intake: 50 students)
3. B.Sc. in Biotechnology, Chemistry, and Zoology (approved intake: 36 students)
4. B.Sc. in Physics, Mathematics, and Statistics
5. B.Sc. in Computer Science, Mathematics, and Statistics/Physics
6. B.Sc. in Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics

Admission into these science stream programs is through the 10+2 examination scored obtained by the candidate.

M.A: The Master of Arts programs offered by GGPGC include Sociology, Sanskrit, Psychology, Political Science, Music-Vocal and Instrumental, History, Hindi, English, Economics, and Drawing and Painting. Eligibility criteria for admission into these programs will be a bachelor's degree in a relevant subject or a related field.

M.Sc: The college offers an M.Sc. program in Home Science and another in Pharmaceutical Chemistry. Eligible candidates are those who possess a bachelor's degree in the respective or related scientific disciplines.

M.Com: Students who have completed B.Com or the equivalent degree may opt for the Master of Commerce offered by GGPGC.
