Government Law PG College, Bikaner Admission Process

Government Law PG College, Bikaner, became the one of eminent institution for imparting legal education in Rajasthan, India. It is approved by Bar Council of India (BCI) to conduct a variety of law programs, that edify students for the law field at all levels of education-from undergraduate to doctoral. The admission process at Government Law PGCollege is meant to select students who deserve seats to its various Law programs.

Government Law PG College majorly accepts candidates on the basis of merit; some programs may also consider scores of the entrance tests. Group discussions/interviews may be conducted for some courses to decide on their selection. Eligibility may vary from program to program; however, in general, the candidates are expected to have completed their previous level of education from a recognized board/university in a satisfactory manner. 

Application Process

1. Admission announcement: The college announces the initiation of the admission procedure through the official college website and other means of communication.

2. Online application: Candidates are to fill an online application form present in the official website of the college.

3. Document submission: The applicants may submit the following documents:

  • Passport-size photos
  • Mark sheets of qualifying examinations (10th, 12th, Graduation, and so on)
  • Entrance examination scorecard (if required)
  • Category certificate (for reserved categories)
  • Any other certificates required by the institute

4. Payment of the application fees: The application fees are to be deposited as indicated by the college.

5. Entrance examination: Candidates might be expected to take either an entrance examination conducted by the college or one recognized by a relevant body for some of the programs.

6. Publication of a merit list: The college publishes a merit list in accordance with the candidate's performance in the qualifying examination, entrance test, and any other applicable criteria.

Degree wise Admission Process

LLB: The college offers an approved intake of 240 students for the LLB program. Admissions in the LLB program are presumably based on performance in the qualifying examination (i.e., 10+2) of the candidates and, perhaps, in a law entrance examination as well, but there are no definite details provided.

LLM: Government Law PG College offers two versions of LLM programs:

  • Regular LLM: With an officially sanctioned intake of 40 seats.
  • LLM Self Finance: With an officially sanctioned intake of 40 seats.

Admission in both of the LLM programs is usually on the basis of the candidates' performance in their LLB degree, and may include an entrance test or interview.

PGD Labour Law Self Finance: The diploma program has an approved intake of 20 students. Admission will more probably be on the basis of the academic credentials of the candidate in the last qualifying degree, maybe followed by an entrance test or interview.

Ph.D. Law: The Ph.D. program in law is offered by the college; the program generally consists of a painstaking selection procedure involving an entrance test, interview, and assessment of the candidate's research proposal.
