Government Polytechnic Bellary (GPT Bellary) was established in 1937. It was renamed to its present name in 1953. Courses at GPT Bellary include diploma in engineering courses in mechanical engineering, civil engineering, metallurgical engineering, automobile engineering, electrical and electronics engineering, electronics and communication engineering, and computer science engineering. GPT Bellary is approved by AICTE and affiliated with the Directorate of Technical Education Bangalore.
The institute also offers a post diploma in industrial safety which is a one-year course. Candidates must have passed class 10th from a recognised board with at least 35% marks to be eligible for admission at GPT Bellary. Aspiring candidates must make sure to meet the eligibility criteria of GPT Bellary before applying to the institute. Decent college.
College Infrastructure
College infrastructure was decent as per government college. It has all the necessary facilities like ventilated and big classrooms, open ground, well equipped labratory, workshops for multiple subjects,etc. There was a library as well but it was small.
