JEE Main is an Indian standardised computer-based test for admission to various undergraduate engineering programmes in engineering, architecture, and planning across colleges in India. The exam consists of two papers, Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper 1 is for admission to B.E./B.Tech. programmes and Paper 2 is for admission to B.Arch. and B.Planning programmes. Paper 1 comprises three sections, namely Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, while Paper 2 includes two sections, Mathematics and Drawing.

To be eligible for JEE Main, candidates must have passed Class 12 or an equivalent exam with at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Candidates who are in their final year of Class 12 are also eligible to apply for JEE Main.

The exam is conducted twice a year, in January and April. The duration of the exam is three hours, and it is available in several languages, including English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.

Besides JEE Main the MAT and CAT entrance cut off are also required for admission to MBA.The All India Management Association (AIMA) administers the Management Aptitude Test (MAT), a nationwide entrance exam that grants admission to MBA/PGDM courses at over 600 B-schools in India. MAT is held four times a year and can be taken through three modes: Paper Based Test (PBT), Internet-Based Test (IBT), and Computer Based Test (CBT).
