Exam Stories

Haryana School of Business, Hisar Admission

Haryana School of Business (HSB), Hisar, is the top and only college of its kind and offers diverse programs in business and management. The admission process at HSB has been designed in such a way that it will filter the most potential candidates for its various programs. For MBA and its specialized versions, the basic criterion of selection is CAT Scores since they determine selection at this national level test and therefore help HSB attract students who are strong in analytical and quantitative skills. The admission cycles usually go along with that of CAT. The exam is generally held in November or December every year.

Prospective candidates should keep a close watch on the official HSB and CAT websites to know the exact dates and deadlines. After declaration of CAT results-in January-an application for MBA programs is generally opened. A bachelor's degree from a recognized university constitutes the basic eligibility criterion for MBA programs: MBA Finance, MBA Marketing, and MBA International Business.  The M.Com program has a dissimilar admission process, as admissions are conducted through an entrance test by HSB itself, along with consideration of the academic merit of the candidate.

Application Process

The application process for Haryana School of Business varies from program to program:

For MBA Programs (including specializations in Finance, Marketing, and International Business):

  1. Register online and write the CAT exam.
  2. Eligible candidates can apply to HSB after the announcement of CAT results.
  3. Fill out the application form from HSB website or as instructed by the institute.
  4. Submit all required documents including your CAT score card, academic certificates, and other relevant credentials.
  5. Wait for the merit listing based on CAT scores.
  6. In the case of shortlisting, put your preparation for any additional rounds of selection which HSB may conduct (the exact details are not provided, these may include group discussions or personal interview).
  7. Final selection will be based on the overall performance largely based on CAT scores.

For M.Com Program:

  1. Watch out for the announcement of the entrance test for M.Com at HSB.
  2. Register for the entrance test, as per the guidelines of the institute.
  3. Appeared for the entrance test conducted by HSB (online or offline).
  4. Submit academic records and other required documents along with the application.
  5. The final selection is based on a combination of entrance test performance and academic merit.

Degree-Wise Admission Process

  1. MBA: Admission to the MBA program at HSB is primarily based on the CAT score. This course has an approved intake of 60 students. The selection process focuses on the merit of CAT score, whereby ensuring that students with strong aptitude in quantitative and analytical skills are admitted.
  2. MBA Finance: This specialized program of MBA has an intake of 30 seats. Just like the general MBA, this program also follows CAT scores for selection. All candidates really interested in finance should apply to this program.
  3. MBA Marketing: HSB offers the MBA Marketing program with the intake of 30 seats. The program is admission based on the merit of CAT scores. This program would suit candidates aspiring a career in marketing and brand management.
