Hi-Tech Institute of Technology, Bhubaneswar was set up in the year 2008 to cater to the need of an affiliated college for conducting +2 Science (stack with 2000+ students on campus), ITU & B. Ed. courses. Recognised by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), the HIT has a good number of engineering and management courses. The institute occupies a total area of 10 acres, and it admitted a total of 1,115 students, and there are 112 faculty members. HIT offers 13 courses in 4 degree programmes: all engineering domains and management.
The institute is also blessed with adequate teaching facilities that will facilitate learning among its students. The hostel facilities in the institute include separate hostels for boys (400 seats) and girls (200 seats) featuring basic necessities such as round-the-clock water supply, power, internet facilities and recreational facilities. That said, the campus is equipped with a good library that has over 3000 titles and 25000 volumes, enabling research activities. To summarise, HIT operates six large air-conditioned computer halls staffed with 350 Intel dual-core computers using several operating systems with the latest software to satisfy the technology freaks.
This institute, since its inception, offers 4 B. Tech programmes in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, electrical and electronics engineering. For postgraduate courses HIT has an MBA and 4 M.Tech specs – Computer Science and Engineering, Power Electronics and Drives, Structural Engineering, and VLSI and Embedded Systems. Further, the institute offers 3 diploma programmes in mechanical, civil and Electrical Engineering. The total approved intake for all the courses combined is one thousand one hundred and fifteen for students.
The admission process at Hi-Tech Institute of Technology differs based on the programme of the student. B.Tech course admissions are done majorly through JEE Main and Odisha JEE ranks for this programme. The institute follows the distribution of seats 75% through OJEE, 15% from AIEEE, now known as JEE Main, and the rest 10% from JEE Main along with OJEE/AIEEE rank holders.
