24 MonthsBachelor of Education (B.Ed) is a two-year full-time undergraduate course approved by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) and offered by Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla.
Eligibility Criteria
The candidates with at least 50% marks either in the Bachelor's Degree (Medical/Non-Medical/Arts/Commerce) and/or in the Master's Degree or any other qualification equivalent thereto and 45% marks in case of SC/ST/OBC/Physically Handicapped/Self Ex-Serviceman categories from a recognized University established by law in India are eligible for admission to the programme. Provided further that for eligibility for admission to the courses, 0.50% or above shall be considered equal to 1% [Notification No. 4-9/94-HPU (Acad) dated 27.06.1995].
Admission Details
Admission to the course will be made strictly based on merit, as determined by marks obtained in the Entrance Test to be conducted by the Entrance Tests Section, H. P. University, Shimla-5. The minimum qualifying marks in the Entrance Test will be 35 percent (i.e., 53 out of 150). For SC/ST/OBC/PHYSICALLY HANDICAPPED/EX-SERVICEMEN candidates, the minimum qualifying marks shall be reduced by 5 percent, i.e., 30 percent (45 out of 150). However, in the case of SC/ST candidates, the merit will be lowered till the full SC or ST quota for admission is exhausted.
