72 MonthsThe minimum & maximum period of study and research shall not be less than 3 years from the date of enrolment (36 months) & 6 years (72 months) respectively from the date of provisional registration of the candidate. However, in case the performance of the research scholar has been exceptionally good, the period can be reduced by six months with recommendations of the SDC and approval of UDC.
Eligibility Criteria
- LLM with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade. Professional qualification such as CA/ ICWA/ CFA/ CS (both 5 year integrated or 3 years after graduation) with minimum 55% marks.
- Master’s degree in a discipline relevant to the proposed research with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade.
- Applicants with more than 3 years industry/ teaching/ practicing/ managerial/ professional experience will be given preference.
- Relaxation of 5% of marks, from 55% to 50%, or an equivalent relaxation of grade, may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/Differently-Abled categories or for those who had obtained their Master’s degree prior to 19th September, 1991. The eligibility marks of 55% (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and the relaxation of 5% to the categories mentioned above are permissible based only on the qualifying marks without including the grace mark procedures.
Admission Details
The following categories of applicants may be exempted from taking the Entrance Test:
- Applicants who have qualified UGC/ CSIR/ JRF/ NET/ SLET (Haryana State) or any other similar examination.
- Holders of Teacher Fellowships from the UGC or any other Government funding agency.
- Applicants who have completed their Ph.D. coursework/ M.Phil. in another University/ Organization, subject to approval by the School Doctoral Committee (SDC). Candidates shall be selected on the basis of the academic record and the potential of the applicant demonstrated during the Entrance Test and Interview.
- Admissions to the Ph.D. Programme must be approved by the respective SDC.
