Lakshmi College of Education, Dindigul Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

The college has a collection of 8,892 books, 326 dissertations, 7 journals, 15 magazines, and 120 back volumes for use by student teachers, scholars, and teachers. Xerox facility is also available. There is a book-bank facility to help the economically poor students. In addition to this main library, each department has its own library with textbooks, reference books, and a question bank.

The college has a well-furnished computer center with six personal computers to impart computer skills to student teachers so that they use these skills in their teaching-learning process. The students are trained in preparing CAI packages and in using the internet.

The college has sports To promote the physical fitness of student teachers, they take various indoor and outdoor games and exercises such as running, jogging, skipping, weight lifting, etc. There are adequate sports equipment and good playgrounds.

The college has well-equipped laboratory facilities in the disciplines of English (language lab), mathematics, physical science, biological science, home science for training the student teachers. They have also a well-established psychology laboratory and practicals are conducted for a better understanding of the school children for the purpose of guidance and counseling.

The college has a health center The Kasturba Hospital, a 200 bedded one, run by Gandhigram Trust offers free medical service for the students.

The college has an auditorium facility for events and seminars.

The college has a Gym facility for the students.

The college has a boy’s hostel facility There is a separate hostel for men students with adequate facilities. It is completely managed by students themselves on the advice of Warden and Deputy Warden. There is a residential housemother to look after the needs of the women students. The mess is run on a dividing system. There are recreational facilities in the form of indoor and outdoor games and television. Every month the students give a Cultural Programme on the campus

The college has an active placement cell along with the career development Centre which looks into the placement of its students from all streams. The college placement cell aims to help students identify their career goals and provide an edge in the present-day competitive job market.

• The role of the T&P (Training &Placement) Cell is a facilitator for placement-related activities. T&P does not guarantee a job.
• Students will be informed about any campus drive through emails.
• The Placement facility is available to all the students registered with T&P Cell through the policy ONE JOB TO ONE STUDENT AT THE FIRST INSTANCE. This will ensure that every student will get equal job opportunities and only a few students will not consume up all the jobs.
• Participants should always carry 2 copies of resumes during interviews.
• Any negative remark in this regard made by any faculty or warden against any student will make him/her ineligible for the entire campus placement process.
• Besides, any student against whom more than one warning letter is issued will not be allowed to appear in a campus interview.
• All students must be in uniform and keep their identity card with them at the time of placement drive.
• Selected participants need to submit a copy of their offer letter to the Placement department to obtain NOC for joining.
• It is the student’s responsibility to see the Placement notice and submit his/her resume to the student coordinators as per the deadline specified in the notice. No resume will be accepted after the deadline specified in the notice.
•  The student will be blacklisted if he/she will: –
  o The candidate submits his / her willingness to participate in any on-campus or off-campus placement recruitment drive and thereby fails to present himself/herself on the day of the placement talk (PPT).
  o Any kind of misbehavior /complaints are reported by the company officials/ T&P team Staff regarding the candidate.
