Laxmi Venkatesh Desai College, Raichur Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

The College has an independent building for the Library with about 50,000 volumes and a good number of periodicals and journals. It has an internet and a reprographic facility for the students. There is a separate reading room too. The Library and the reading rooms are kept open even after college hours during examination time.

The College has a large playground, the college boasts facilities for football, volleyball, Hockey, Ko-kho, Kabaddi, basketball, and Cricket. For Athletics, a separate 400-meter Track and facilities for other field events are also provided. The facility for indoor games like Shuttle Badminton, Table Tennis, Chess, etc., is available in the Auditorium. The multi-stage Gym in the college helps the students to be fit and healthy. All these have helped the students to earn a name in the field of Games and Sports at the District, University, and also at State and National Levels.

The Microbiology Department is housed in a separate building and the Computer Science department has three fully air-conditioned laboratories. Liberal grants from the University Grants Commission helped to upgrade the laboratories and library. The Botanical Garden, with some of its rare plants, lends Colour and Charm. The PG Dept. in Physics has high-precision instruments in the laboratory with research facilities developed with grants from VGST, UGC, and college funds. The PG laboratory for MSc Chemistry is well equipped with separate laboratories.
