MIHMCT, also known as Madras Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology, was set in 1996 in Chennai, Tamilnadu. Located in a small area of 1  acre, MIHMCT has been providing different and wide courses in the field of hospitality, culinary arts and business management. This institute is famous for its vocational course structure and more towards the industry approach. Since MIHMCT is an affiliated college, the college admits students and provide them with both theoretical education and business practice to produce human resource for successful career especially in the hospitality and related industries.

Madras Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology, Chennai is affiliated with the college Alagappa University, Karaikudi. MIHMCT is fully equipped with several amenities to cater to the students needs to help them meet their academic goals. These are undergraduate programmes like B.Sc in Catering & Hotel Management, B.Sc in Culinary Arts & Chef Management and B.Com in Banking, Financial services & Insurance. MIHMCT, for the learners interested in postgraduate level, offers MBA in Business Analytics and MBA Industry Integrated. All programmes at MIHMCT are 4 year, full-time programmes which prepares students towards the professional life.
