Maharani Girls College, Jaipur Admission Process

Maharani Girls College, Jaipur, as an affiliated women's institution on National Highway 8 near Mahindra World City (SEZ) on Ajmer Road, Jaipur. The college provides a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Arts, Commerce, and Science disciplines, in addition to offering integrated B.Ed courses. The Maharani Girls College admission procedure is highly competitive and merit-based, thus granting an opportunity to deserving female candidates to pursue higher studies in Rajasthan. The college mostly follows an uncomplicated admission policy based on qualifying examination marks and/or entrance examination as dictated by the state government and the university concerned. Such criteria help ensure fairness and impartiality in the selection of candidates. 

The academic session is normally scheduled to begin in August-September, with admission processes typically starting a few months before the academic session. The admission eligibility differs based upon the program selected. For undergraduate-level programs, it requires candidates to have finished 10+2 schooling from a recognized board. The integrated B.Ed programs may subject other criteria according to NCTE (National Council for Teacher Education). Masters-level courses apply towards those candidates who have a bachelor's degree in the desired subject area from any recognized university.

Application Process

The admission procedure at Maharani Girls College, Jaipur, is structured in several steps:

1. Notification: The college advertises its admission notifications via the official website and in local newspapers.

2. Application Form: Interested candidates to obtain the application form either from the college campus or to download the application form from the official website.

3. Form Filling: After collecting the application form, the candidates should fill the application form properly with personal information and academic details.

4. Submission of Certification: Along with the duly filled application form, the candidates shall submit the following certificates: - 

  • Mark sheets of qualifying examination (10th and 12th for UG courses; 
  • Bachelor's degree for PG courses); 
  • Transfer Certificate; 
  • Character Certificate; 
  • Caste Certificate (if applicable); 
  • Recent passport-size photographs

5. Application Submission: The duly filled application forms are submitted, along with all required documents, into the college admission office before the last date of submission.

6. Merit List: The college prepares a merit list on the basis of the performance of the candidates in qualifying examinations and/or entrance tests.

7. Counseling: The shortlisted candidates may be called for a counseling session wherein they would be able to exercise their choice of course based on merit and availability of seats.

8. Fee Payment: The selected candidates need to pay the prescribed admission fee within the stipulated time frame to confirm their seat allotment.

9. Final Admission: Upon successful payment of the fee and verification of documents, candidates will be granted final admission to their chosen program.

Degree wise Admission Process

BA: Bachelor of Arts program consists of 180 seats. Admission is based on the marks obtained in the qualifying 10+2 examination. The total fee for the BA program is, Rs 43,500.

B.Com: There are 60 seats for the Bachelor of Commerce program. Admission is made on the basis of the performance of the candidate in the 10+2 examination, with preference to commerce subjects. The total fee for B.Com is Rs 49,500.

B.Sc (Maths Group and Bio Group): Fifty each for both B.Sc. The basis of admission is again the marks obtained in the 10+2 examination concerning mathematics and science subjects. The total fee for both B.Sc courses is Rs 64,500.

BA B.Ed Integrated: One hundred seats are available for this integrated course of study. Admission is based on merit on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination and/or entrance examination as per the policies of the state government and the university.

B.Sc B.Ed Integrated: This integrated course has 100 seats, similar to the BA B.Ed program. Admission follows the same merit criterion as above with respect to marks obtained from qualifying examination and/or entrance exam.

MA Programs: The college provides MA degree programs in Political Science, History, and Geography. Admission to these postgraduate programs is generally based on the candidates' performance in their bachelor's degree, and any entrance examinations that might be held by the affiliated university.

M.Com (Accountancy and Business Statistics): This postgraduate program's admission is based on the candidate's performance in their B.Com degree and any relevant entrance exams.

From academic point of view, and from experience I think that curriculum can be updated a bit so that it helps in more learning but overall it is not bad and has all the important information and source of learning/books/faculty available in the college
