Eligibility conditions and requirements for admissions for Direct Second Year (Lateral Entry)- Engineering /Technology

For Maharashtra State Candidature Candidate and All India Candidature Candidate -

(i) The Candidate should be an Indian National;

(ii) Passed Diploma Course in Engineering and Technology with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates of backward class categories and Persons with Disability belonging to Maharashtra State only) in appropriate branch of Engineering and Technology from an All India Council for Technical Education or Central or State Government approved Institution or its equivalent ;

Or

(ii) Passed B.Sc. (Bachelor of Science) Degree from a University Grants Commission (UGC) or Association of Indian Universities recognized University with at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates of backward class categories and Persons with Disability belonging to Maharashtra State only) and passed HSC with Mathematics as a subject. Provided that students belonging to this category shall clear the subjects of Engineering Graphics/ Engineering Drawing and Engineering Mechanics of the first year Engineering Program along with second year subjects.

Or

(ii) Passed D.Voc.( Diploma of Vocation) Stream in the same or allied sector.

(iii) In the above cases, a suitable bridge Courses, if required such as in Mathematics may be conducted.

(iv) Any other criterion declared from time to time by the appropriate authority.

Candidature Type:

• Maharashtra State Candidature
• TypeEligibility criteriaType A

  Candidates passing SSC or HSC and also Diploma in Engineering or Technology or Bachelor of Science or its equivalent from a recognised institution in Maharashtra State.

  Type B

  A Candidate who does not fall in Type-A above, but who or whose Father or Mother is domiciled in the State of Maharashtra and possesses Domicile Certificate.

  Type C

  A Candidate who does not fall in either Type-A or Type-B but whose Father or Mother is an employee of the Government of India or Government of India Undertaking and who has been posted and reported to duty in Maharashtra State before the last date for submission of Application Form.

  Type D

  A Candidate who does not fall in any of the above Type-A, Type B and Type-C but whose Father or Mother is an employee or retired employee of the Government of Maharashtra or Government of Maharashtra Undertaking.

• The Candidates having Indian Nationality and who do not fall in any of the above type (Type-A to Type-D) are eligible under this Category.
