Manikchand Dhariwal Institute of Management and Rural Technology, Pune Admission Process

The Institute named Manikchand Dhariwal Institute of Management and Rural Technology (MDIMRT), Pune, with a very good reputation, endeavors to give postgraduate education in advanced computer science. Set up in 1987, MSIMRT is encased in Shirur Ghodnadi, Pune, Maharashtra, lying alongside Pune-Nagar Highway. The major emphasis of the institute is on quality education through its Master of Computer Applications (MCA) program. The admission process in MDIMRT revolves around the Maharashtra MCA Common Entrance Test (MAH MCA CET), which acts as a single gateway entrance for admission to the MCA course. This state-level examination helps maintain uniformity in assessing the students of Maharashtra. The MAH MCA CET is conducted generally in March, with the next exam set for March 22, 2025.

The requirements for admission to the MCA program at MDIMRT are as follows:

  1. A bachelor's degree from a university recognized by the state.
  2. Knowledge of computer applications or programming.
  3. Having a score with a minimum cut-off in MAH MCA CET.

To take up an MCA at MDIMRT, the interested candidates must appear for the MAH MCA CET. It is an online exam, which tests the computer application and management knowledge of the applicants. Post the exam, a centralized admission process is conducted by the state for all the MCA programs in Maharashtra, also with MDIMRT.

Application Process

The application process for admission to the MCA program at Manikchand Dhariwal Institute of Management and Rural Technology, Pune, is as follows:

1. MAH MCA CET Registration: Candidates must first register for the Maharashtra MCA Common Entrance Test on the official website of the exam conducting body.

2. Appear for MAH MCA CET: The entrance exam is scheduled for March 22, 2025, to be conducted online. The candidates should prepare very well for this exam since it is the main criterion for admission.

3. Result Declaration: After the exam, results will be declared on the official MAH MCA CET website. Only those candidates who meet the qualifying criteria will enter the centralized admission process.

4. Centralized Admission Process (CAP): Qualified candidates need to register for CAP, which is conducted by the state for all MCA programs in Maharashtra, including MDIMRT.

5. Document Verification: Documents of shortlisted candidates will be verified. These documents include:

  • MAH MCA CET score card
  • Graduation degree certificate and mark sheets
  • 10 th and 12 standard certificates
  • Domicile certificate (if applicable)
  • Category certificate (if applicable)

6. Counselling and Seat Allotment: Based on the MAH MCA CET score and preferences, the CAP rounds shall see all candidates inducted with a seat.

7. Admission Confirmation: The seat allotted at MDIMRT must be confirmed by the candidates through a report at the institute along with payment of fees, within the time specified.

8. Orientation and Commencement of Classes: A successful applicant will be invited for an orientation program, and regular classes will commence thereafter.

Degree wise Admission Process

MCA (Master of Computer Applications): The full-time, two-year works of art gradually equip students with extensive knowledge of computer applications. The admission is done on the merit of the performance of the candidate in the MAH MCA CET.

The MCA program at MDIMRT follows the syllabi prescribed by the affiliating university and prepares students for the fast-growing field of information technology. The program links theoretical understanding with labor-related studies, preparing the course graduates for the labor market.

Eligibility for MCA:

  1. Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree from a recognized university.
  2. A strong base in mathematics and computer science is desirable.
  3. Candidates must qualify in the MAH MCA CET with a score not less than the cut-off criteria set by the institute.
