Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Legislative Law (B.Com LLB) Hons is a five-year full-time Integrated programme in Law offered by Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam with the approval of Bar Council of India (BCI).
a. Selection of the students for the course will be made in the following manner:-
i. 50% of the seats shall be filled up by the Government or such authority determined by the Government from time to time on the basis of the entrance examination and reservation principles followed by the Government of Kerala. The Commissioner for Entrance examination has the right to allot 50% students till the last allotment process is over.
ii. The remaining 50% of seats shall be filled up by the Educational Agency on the basis of merit. (i. e. marks obtained by the candidate in the qualifying examination). If the number of applicants exceeds 30, i.e. 50% of seats, the seats shall be filled up on the basis of an entrance examination conducted by the Educational Agency.
b. No candidate will be admitted to the college unless he/she produces the following documents at the time of admission.
i. All mark lists of the Higher Secondary Examination.
ii. Transfer Certificate from the institution last studied.
iii. Conduct and character certificate from the institution last studied.
iv. Eligibility Certificate:- Candidates who have passed the qualifying Higher Secondary Examination from any state other than the State of Kerala shall produce the Eligibility certificate of the Mahatma Gandhi University at the time of admission.
c. The Principal may refuse to grant admission to any candidate without assigning any reason. Any student who has obtained admission to the college by means of false certificate or by false representation of any kind, or who may be found guilty of misconduct shall be summarily dismissed.
d. Application form (Management quota) and Prospectus can be obtained from the college office on all working days on payment of Rs.500 and Rs.250 by the candidates belonging to General Category and SC/ST respectively. The duly filled in application with requisite documents is to be submitted in the College Office within the notified time.
An applicant who has successfully completed Higher Secondary School course (‘+2’) or equivalent (such as 11+1, ‘A’ level in Senior School Leaving certificate course) from a recognized University in India or outside or from a Senior Secondary Board or equivalent, constituted or recognized by the Union or by a State Government or from any equivalent institution from a foreign country recognized by the government of that country for the purpose of issue of qualifying certificate on successful completion of the course, may apply for and be admitted into the program of the Centres of Legal Education
No Candidate shall be admitted to the course unless he has passed the Higher Secondary Examination of the Government of Kerala or any other examinations recognized as equivalent thereto by this University with not less than 45% marks (without rounding) for general category and 40% marks (without rounding) for SC/ ST. The age prescribed for the candidate is below 20 years in the case of general category and below 22 years in the case of candidates belonging to SC/ST and other backward communities on the last date of application for Entrance Examination or the last date of application for admission if admission is not based on Entrance Examination.
