PKR Arts College For Women, Erode Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

The College has a homely hostel, to accommodate 700 UG and PG students. Recreational facilities (Reading room, indoor games, and TV) are available within the hostel. The gymnasium and medical center are the components of the main campus and the hostellers can avail themselves in the morning and evening. Computer laboratories with WIFI connectivity possessing internet facilities and the library are kept open beyond college working hours to facilitate the inmates of the hostel.

The college medical practitioner is visiting the campus to attend to the health problems of both the students and teachers. Every year free medical check-up is arranged for all the staff and students. Blood group identification, hemoglobin counts, and eye tests are the components of such check-ups. At times of need, ailing hostel inmates are given the best treatment in the hospitals around. All students and teachers are covered by group insurance and accident insurance schemes.

The college develop physical fitness components such as strength, muscular power, stamina, endurance, agility, coordination, etc. To provide specific training to athletes in order to promote leg strength, abdominal power, back muscle power, etc. To impart training for bodybuilding and weightlifting.

The college has Library is the backbone of the institution and it acquires, processes, preserves and disseminates information to the user community with empowering knowledge. The Library was established in 1994 when the college was started. In the year 1995, it was shifted to the first floor of the new permanent building. The library automation was initiated in February 2005 and the same was completed by May 2005. All the books are bar-coded in the library & barcode laser scanners are used in the circulation counter for book transactions from June 2011 onwards. Now the Library is located on the second & third floors of the new building and occupies an area of 1287.6 sq. Mts. The library is centrally air-conditioned and fitted with CCTV cameras. It has an extensive collection of books, reference materials, and an Institutional Repository for satisfying the academic and research needs of the students and faculty. The Library and Knowledge Centre consists of a Reference Section, Circulation Section, Periodical Section, and Digital Library. The library has automated all its library activities to provide an effective and wide range of academic resources such as books, journals, and online databases.

The college Playfields for outdoor games like kabaddi, volleyball, handball, football, and hockey are available facilities to play indoor games like table tennis, chess, Carrom, shuttlecock and badminton are available. A well-equipped gymnasium is a functioning open-air theatre where yoga sessions are conducted.

The college has an excellent IT Infrastructure facility for the students.

The college Cafeteria provides nutritious and tasty food, a variety of snacks, breakfast (by order), lunch (by order), and refreshments are available for the students and staff. Experienced cooks with more than 20 years of experience serving in the canteen. Organic food items are made available to maintain good health.

The college has an auditorium facility for events and seminars.

The college offers bus facilities to all the day-scholar students. There are 24 buses flying every day to pick up staff and students from their destinations. The transport facilities are also extended to various association events like industrial visits and co-curricular-related activities.

The College Alumnae Association is a registered body with an Executive Committee and Student Coordination Committee to engage, execute, and enhance various activities of the Association. Alumnae of the institution are connected to the alma mater, faculty, and students through their personal interaction and professional networking.

The college has a departmental-based laboratory facility for the students.

The college Karur Vysya Bank Ltd, Gobichettipalayam ATM unit is functioning at the front of the main gate for the benefit of the students and staff.

The college has a co-operative store in for the supply of stationeries and eatables at a very reasonable price. Record notebooks and textbooks are also sold in the book depot.
