Bachelor of Arts Bachelor of Education (BA B.Ed) is a full-time four-year integrated course offered by the University of Mysore, Mysore.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates seeking admission to the B.A.B.Ed. The course should have passed the CBSE Senior Secondary examination/ Pre-University examination of Karnataka or an equivalent examination of Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, the UT of Lakshadweep, with 45% marks in the aggregate. Relaxation of up to 5% of marks shall be given to the SC/ST candidates.
Candidates should have passed the qualifying examination with the following combinations of subjects: English, Regional Language, and any two of the following subjects: History, Geography, Economics, Political Science, and Sociology.
Admission shall be regulated through selection based on marks in the qualifying examination or performance in a specially designed selection test or both, as per the admission policies of NCERT from time to time. The selection test shall consist of Multiple Choice Questions with equal weightage to the three content areas of the combination of subjects at the CBSE/PUC/+2 level. Admission will be following administrative policies related to proportionate representation (based on the latest available census report) to different States in the region. It will also be governed by the reservation policies of the Government of India as prevalent at the time of admission.
Institutions other than RIE, Mysore, offering the course follow the admission rules of undergraduate courses of the University of Mysore.

Admission Details

"(a) Admission shall be made on merit based on marks obtained in the qualifying examination and the entrance examination or any other selection process as per the policy of the State Government/university/U.T. Administration.
(b) At the time of admission to the program, the student will need to indicate their selection of the subjects to be pursued for the discipline options and the accompanying pedagogic specialisations for which they are applying, and these may be assigned based on the order of merit and availability."

College Infrastructure

The college infrastructure especially classrooms seems insufficient and less furnished. Hostel renovations needs to be paid attention towards. Needful appliances such as water heaters needs to be fitted as the solar heating system doesn’t meet its purpose during monsoons and winters.

I would recommend this for aspiring teachers.

College Infrastructure

The college has good infrastructure facility. There is amble number of classrooms, labs for science subjects, computer labs, pedagogy labs. For the co curricular activities the campus has basketball court, volleyball, handball, football ground. There is also av hall and assembly hall where the cultural events take place.

College Infrastructure

The college campus is vast, spreading to around 120 acres. There is a diversity of flora and fauna, and ample space for budding of ecosystem. Playground and pathways are open for students. There are multiple hostel, college, and administrative buildings in the campus, including a school as well. Equipments of basic necessities are available in hostel and college, although not necessarily accessible 24/7. Campus is clean and hygienic. However, there is scope for improvement in the food provided.
