M.Sc. Economics is a full time programme offered by the school. The programme is curated to impart a strong foundation of quantitative economics and econometrics along with specialization options to the students in the fields of Financial Economics and Applied Quantitative Economics and Finance. The curriculum of this programme is designed at par with leading institutions and is tuned to cater to the needs of the industry and academia. The course structure of this programme aligns with the UGC guidelines and adheres to the benchmark at the highest premium institutions in India and abroad. Students enrolled under this programme require to complete 16 courses (96 credits). The programme also offers the provision for research for students where they are permitted to take up a dissertation in the final semester of the programme.

The course offered by the School is designed to train students academically by providing advanced knowledge in economics as well as nurturing their ability to apply them in real life. The course focuses on fostering strong reasoning and analytical skills among students that would prepare them for their career path ahead in industry, academia or policy making.

Eligibility Criteria

Bachelor's degree of minimum three-year duration (or equivalent) in Economics discipline, from a recognized University, with at least 55% marks in aggregate.

Bachelor's degree of minimum three-year duration (or equivalent) in Non-Economics discipline, from a recognized University, with at least 60% marks in aggregate with Mathematics at the 10+2 level.

Final year degree students, who expect to complete their final examinations and other requirements for obtaining the degree by June 30, 2026, can also apply.

Admission Details

The selection of eligible candidates will be based on performance in an entrance test and / or a personal interview. Candidates will be selected on the basis of their knowledge of Mathematics, Statistics, Microeconomics, and Macroeconomics at a level commensurate with the UGC-CBCS syllabus of B.A./B.Sc. Economics program. Final selection will be based on the past academic performance, and written test and/or personal interview.
