24 MonthsModern power systems are continuously being expanded and upgraded to cater the need of ever growing power demand. This Programme aims at imparting technical knowledge to graduate Engineers in the field of Power Systems. This Programme deals with the state of the art techniques in Power System analysis and dynamics, advanced power system protection, Planning, reliability and forecasting. The course also covers subjects on Extra high voltage AC & DC transmission, Smart grids, Advanced Electrical Machines and Power electronics, Renewable energy systems and advanced topics in modern processors and controllers which are very much needed for today's power system Engineer.
The major objective of M. Tech program with specialization in Power Systems is to prepare students for a new era of truly ‘smart’ grids, and is designed to meet the urgent need for specialists in advanced electrical energy systems. The novel grid will be capable to integrate renewable power generation, energy storage devices and electric vehicles into electrical transmission and distribution systems.

Eligibility Criteria
For Indian Nationals:
- B.E. /B. Tech. in Electrical Engineering/Electrical and Electronics (Power System)/Electrical and Electronics Engineering/Electrical and Instrumentation Engineering/Electrical and Power Engineering/ Electrical Engineering (Electronics and Power)/Electrical, Electronics and Power, with minimum 60% or CPI/CGPA of 6.5 on a 10 point scale
For Foreign Nationals:
- From any stream of education recognized as equivalent by Association of Indian Universities (AIU)/UGC/AICTE/other statutory bodies as applicable with English as the medium of instruction.
Admission Details
Admission will be offered to the candidates on merit based on the GATE score.
