    The School of Engineering, University of Mysore, Mysuru, (SOE UOM) is one of the oldest existing engineering colleges which was founded in the year 1916 in the city of Mysuru, Karnataka. This is one of the respected engineering schools which is recognised by the All India Council for Technical Education, AICTE. Located in the Manasa Gangothiri campus, SOE UOM is equipped with some of the best engineering education programmes. The institute has a strength of 6 members in its faculty team and is committed to building up talents for the future engineering world.

    School of Engineering, University of Mysore, Mysuru is affiliated with the college University of Mysore, Mysore. SOE UOM strives to make sure that its students capabilities are developed in a positive environment. It offers well-furnished classrooms, good reading area with books and latest technology and information technology systems. The institute also services wireless internet to the entire campus to facilitate connection and get information during study. For the students who need accommodation, for boys and girls respectively, SOE UOM offers hostel facilities in a more accredited standard. The campus also include an auditorium for carrying out of different occasions and seminars in order to improve the academic environment. In addition, there are transport facilities available in the institute to make the transport of students and the staffing eminent.

    School of Engineering, University of Mysore, has a total of 7 courses it offers, five of which are B.Tech courses, a MCA and a MBA course. All these courses are full time, traditional programmes aimed at offering depth knowledge with special skills in their respective areas of specialisation. All the B.Tech programmes offer admissions up to 60 and the MBA has the admitted strength of 120 students. These courses offer a wide variety of programmes to meet the generalised interests and future goals of the future engineers and managers. The introduction of new courses of study such as Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, and Data Science avows the readiness of the institute to produce alumni that will suit the current existing companies.

    Most of the students get admission in SOE UOM through self-financing, where a major entrance exam called the Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) is followed. The SOE UOM admissions are conducted almost in accordance with the academic calendar of the University of Mysore-general, starting from the months that precede the actual commencement of the academic year running from August-September. 

    The Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) emerges as the main basis for admissions at the undergraduate level; KCET is the mandatory examination for SOE UOM admission into their B.Tech courses.

    • Register and appear for the Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET).
    • The date of declaration of the KCET results will see eligible candidates going for centralised counselling conducted by Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA).
    • During counselling, candidates will select SOE UOM and their opted B.Tech course based on their KCET rank and when seats are available. 
    • Candidates allocated a seat must report to SOE UOM for document verification and the admitting process.

    • Taking the prescribed entrance examination (e.g., CAT/KMAT for MBA; KMAT/PGCET for MCA.)
    • Either apply directly to SOE UOM or follow the centralised admission procedure according to the respective case. 
    • Attend further selection rounds which may include group discussions and personal interviews.

    The five B.Tech programmes offered by SOE UOM comprise Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Biomedical and Robotic Engineering, Civil Environmental Engineering, and Computer Science and Design. The KCET rank forms the basis for selection of candidates for admission into these programmes. The selection process is merit-based following KEA norms. Candidates with a qualification of 10+2 standard are fine to apply for admission that has Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as subjects.
