24 MonthsBachelor of Education (B.Ed) is a two-year full-time undergraduate course approved by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) and offered by Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University, Chennai.
Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates with at least 50% marks in the Bachelor's Degree and/or in the Master's Degree in Arts/Sciences are eligible for admission to the programme.
- Candidates with at least 55% marks in a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Technology with specialization in Science and Mathematics are eligible for admission to the two-year B.Ed. degree programme. All the B.E/B.Tech./M.E/M. Tech graduates, irrespective of their branch in Engineering, are eligible to study either Mathematics or Physical Science as the pedagogy of a school subject. Apart from the B.E/B.Tech/M.E/M. Tech graduates in computer science-related branches and Bio-Technology-related branches are also eligible to study computer science and Biological science as a pedagogy of a school subject relatively.
- The reservation and relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PWD and other categories shall be as per the rules of the Central and State government, whichever is applicable.
- However, the minimum eligibility marks for admission to B.Ed is given below: OC-50%, BC/BC(M)-45%, MBC/DNC-43%, SC/SC(A)/ST-40%.
- A minimum pass is enough for the differently-abled students.
Admission Details
Admission shall be made on merit based on marks obtained in the qualifying examination and/or in the entrance examination or any other selection process as per the policy of the state government/U.T. Administration and the university.
