Sikkim Manipal Institute of Medical Sciences offers MCI recognized MBBS course as per curriculum prescribed by the Medical Council of India (MCI). This course carries the educational and technical excellence, which is a hallmark of all Manipal Group organizations. During the course, students are trained in theoretical and practical aspects of basic, pre- and para-clinical subjects and receive state of the art training from fully equipped and staffed medical college and teaching hospital. The teaching hospital is a tertiary care center serving people of Sikkim and North East India, in general, and offers excellent scope for hands-on clinical training. The teaching staff is experienced and trained in modern teaching learning methods. SIMS has adopted the policy of constantly evolving and updating teaching-learning systems in accordance with MCI regulations from time to time.

Eligibility Criteria

  • All candidates must be 17 years of age or older as on December 31, 2022. To be eligible for admission to MBBS course, a candidate must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-technology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Bio-technology at the qualifying examination (10+2 or equivalent). In respect of candidates belonging to PwD the minimum marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/ Bio- technology taken together in qualifying examination shall be 45% and in respect of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes or other Backward Classes the minimum marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/ Bio- technology taken together in qualifying examination shall be 40% from the recognized boards.
  • In addition, must have qualified in the NEET conducted by CBSE.

Admission Details

  • Admissions will be through the merit list of NEET conducted by NTA. Candidates have to apply to Sikkim Manipal Institute of Medical Sciences separately.
