Sipajhar College, Darrang Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

The college has a girls' hostel facility that provides good student accommodation. A full-fledged Women’s Hostel having all the modern amenities that have been functioning for the last decade offers accommodation for girls. The number of seats is limited and is allotted on a merit basis. However, women from places with inadequate transport and communication facilities are prioritized. A separate form for admission to the hostel, obtainable from the Warden on the day of college admission, is to be filled.

The college library has around twenty thousand books, several national and local newspapers, and more than two dozen national and international journals. It follows the open access system with books being lent out through requisition slips. The process of library automation, and installing OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue) is underway. The library has access to INFLIBNET services. Besides providing internet facilities the library users also have access to reprographic services and photocopies of resources available in the library and reference section.

The college has sports facilities for all students. Games and amp; Sports: Built with UGC assistance under the XI Plan the college has an Indoor Sports Training Centre with state-of-the-art- equipment. It provides facilities for indoor sports and games. This center was inaugurated by the Hon'ble Education Minister of Assam, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma.

The college has an excellent IT Infrastructure facility for the students. The Lab is equipped with 15 computers that are LAN networked and also provided with Internet connectivity.

The college has an auditorium facility for events and seminars.

The college has a departmental-based laboratory facility for the students. A new language Lab has been set up under the aegis of the Department of English with UGC assistance under the Teaching-Aids Scheme of the XI Plan. The language lab has the latest facilities for imparting training in developing language skills.

The College gymnasium was built with UGC funding and opened to students in 2013. Both girls and boys and teachers who wish to avail the gymnasium facilities must pay a nominal fee to join the gymnasium club.

The college has Since 2015, a clean and well-equipped canteen has served the college community. It is leased to a local entity. Here, both students and teachers have access to facilities for refreshments.

Established in 1993 to teach social consciousness and a sense of responsibility, discipline, and dignity of labor among the youth the National Service Scheme (NSS) is a voluntary organization of college students under the Union Ministry of Human Resource Development. Students can enroll themselves in the NSS unit of the college at the beginning of the academic session. The college unit of the NSS takes up several social service programs with active participation of the people of the locality, and social service programs with active participation of the people of the locality.
