Tolani Maritime Institute, TMI, was established in 1998 and is the foremost institution for maritime education, located in Induri, Pune, Maharashtra. The affiliated college name is IMU Chennai. This affiliated college sprawls over a 100-acre campus, having the aim of developing skilled professionals for the industry associated with the sea. TMI offers three specialised courses in the discipline of marine engineering and nautical science with a faculty strength of 77 experienced educators. State-of-the-art facilities with a fully industry-orientated curriculum are certainly the hallmarks of its commitment towards quality education.

The Institute has excellent facilities that help in imparting learning in a holistic way. TMI's Library stocks an excellent repository of maritime literature consisting of a large number of titles in the fields of Maritime Disciplines, Mechanical Engineering, Computers, Basic Sciences, along with popular magazines and current periodicals on subjects related to maritime. There are working laboratories in the college that are fully equipped to provide hands-on training in material testing, mechanics, hydraulics, electric control systems, electronic equipment, and electric machinery. There is also an outdoor heated competition swimming pool, 25 metres in length, with diving boards up to 10 metres in height, and a smaller pool for non-swimmers for the would-be mariner. On campus, there are other facilities such as a 280-seat air-conditioned auditorium, a modern Primary Health Care Centre, sports facilities that include a football field, cricket nets, and a 200-metre synthetic track.
