About IMU CET 2020
Indian Maritime University (IMU) has announced the cancellation of the Common Entrance Test (IMU CET) which was scheduled to be held on August 30. The authorities have also extended the last date to submit application form till August 31. IMU offers admission in various courses through the Common Entrance Test (CET). Admission to B.Tech, M.Tech, and MBA programmes, among others, offered by IMU and affiliated institutes will be based on HSC / PUC / Intermediate
Examinations. The IPU CET exam otherwise has separate entrance papers for the various programmes. IMU CET 2020 entrance exams for these programmes is conducted at 84 cities across India. The duration of IMU CET 2020 is 3 hours and includes objective type questions. IMU CET 2020 question paper for B.Tech included 150 questions from physics, chemistry, mathematics, English and also general aptitude. The syllabus is based on the 10+2 level. MBA and M.Tech papers, meanwhile, had 120 questions, while the syllabi for the papers is set differently. Post-exam, results are released by IMU in online mode. The validity of IMU CET 2020 is for the upcoming academic session only.
Please note to participate in online counselling held for admission to IMU campuses, candidates must be listed in the merit list. Or else, the IMU CET 2020 qualified candidate will not be eligible to participate in the counselling session. Such candidates though can apply directly to affiliated institutes for the admission. The first list of admission has been released for various UG programs by the university.

IMU CET 2020 Eligibility Criteria
IMU CET B.Tech Eligibility Criteria
Although the exam has been cancelled, candidates still have to meet the eligibility criteria of IMU CET 2020. It is also worth noting that the eligibility criteria would vary depending on whether the candidate is applying for B.Tech, M.Tech or MBA programme. Among important eligibility criteria that candidates applying for B.Tech programme need to meet include that of age limit, qualifying exam passed and minimum marks.
IMU CET Eligibility Criteria 2020 for B.Tech programmes
The candidates should be minimum 17 years and maximum 25 years of age as on August 1, 2020.
5 year age relaxation applies to SC/ST candidates.
The candidate should score minimum 60% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in 10+2 or equivalent exam. Additionally, minimum 50% marks in English is also mandatory.
5% relaxation applies to For SC/ST category candidates. However, no relaxation applies to English marks.
B.Tech Marine Engineering
All candidates applying to this programme need to clear fitness as mandated by DG Shipping Guidelines.
A medical certificate issued by doctors who are approved by Director General of Shipping has to be produced by the candidates applying for Marine Engineering.
B.Tech Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering (and also B.Sc Ship Building & Repair)
Physical fitness certificate from registered medical practitioner has to submitted.
B.Tech Marine Engineering (and also DNS courses leading to B.Sc Applied Nautical Science, B.Sc Nautical Science, B.Sc Maritime Science)
Candidates mustn’t have any degree of squint or any morbid eye (or eyelid) condition. The candidate must have good binocular vision, the movement of the balls should be full in all directions, while the pupils should react normally to light and accommodation.
Distance vision (unaided 0.5 (6/12) in each eye or 0.67 (6/9) in better eye and 0.33 (6/18) in other eye.
Normal colour vision shall be tested by Ishihara test chart.

How to fill IMU CET Application Form 2020
Registration – The application filling process will start with registration, wherein the candidate will have to register their name, phone number and email; the last two items will be used by the Institute for communicating with the candidate.
Filling of application form - Upon successful registration, the candidate will have to next fill the application form, which will have sections like personal, academic and contact details.
Uploading of documents – The candidate will have to next upload scanned images of photograph and signature, and also other documents like Class X Mark sheet as proof of date of birth, Class XII/ degree certificate (whichever applicable), and category certificate. Exam authorities will not declare the result of IMU CET 2020 due to its cancellation. IMU CET 2020 result is determined separately for each of the CET exams. In case of B.Tech candidates, the result is prepared based on the marks obtained by the candidate in the computer-based exam for the course, which includes questions from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and also English and General Aptitude.

Indian Maritime University conducts the Counselling in online mode for seat allotment to various courses offered by its six campuses. Affiliated Institutes, however, is not be a part of this online counselling process, as they have their own separate counselling. Admissions will be based on HSC / PUC / Intermediate examinations.
The registration process for participation in online counselling was available for short-listed candidates only. Candidates can check their eligibility for IMU CET 2020 online counselling by consulting the rank lists published by exam authorities. The first round seat allotment result will be published.
The counselling process included steps like seat allotment and document verification. During document verification, the candidate will have to submit originals of all relevant documents, including mark sheet and certificates. Only those candidates who successfully complete the document verification will be considered for admission.
There will be likely four IMU CET 2020 counselling and seat allotment rounds. Candidates who are allotted a seat in each of these rounds will have to pay the programme fee within the given deadline to confirm their seats. The first admission list has already been released on the official website.
- Counselling registration fee: Short-listed candidates will have to pay a non-refundable fee of Rs. 10,000 to participate in online counselling.
- Admission fee: Any candidate who is allotted a seat in any of the seat allotment rounds will have to pay a non-refundable sum of Rs. 25,000 towards programme fee as per the given schedule.

As far as appearing for the actual IMU CET exam for undergraduate courses I see no reason as to why your son would be ineligible.
Given the Covid-19 situation and the fact that higher education is definitely going to suffer some setbacks in the coming session of 2020-2021, the exam's tentative dates in June 2021 can very easily be postponed if the circumstances so demand.
Just make sure that your son covers all the other eligibility requirements by next year (being 17 years of age and passing PCM [for B.tech] with minimum 60% marks for general category)
Anxiety and lack of surety is understandable and completely normal in these trying times but please remember that it is the same for every student so any decision regarding exams and careers that the universities or governments make will mostly ever be in favor of the students.

Yes he can apply for IMU CET in 2021 . But as per the policy he should have passed the exams till that time. So the board results mostly get out in May then he will be eligible for the exam. As per the eligibility criteria he should have qualified 12th standard (or equivalent) examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from any recognized central or state board and should be be minimum 17 years and maximum 25 years old as on August 1, 2021.

many youtbers and site show the Sllaybus of imu cet is 11 and 12 both chapters but in every book their is only 12 cbse chapters so who is right.
The IMU CET Syllabus consists of 6 sections English, General Knowledge, General Aptitude, Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
The syllabus of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics consists of topics mainly from class 12, so you focus should be 90% towards class 12 syllabus and 10% towards class 11% syllabus.
