From January 2008 The Univeristy has 25 Post Graduate Departments, 4 Law, 13 education and 5 autonomous departments and have 119 affiliated colleges and Universities.
The ranking of the college is good as it has been ranked 1st place in the country and 139th at global level in UI Green Metric World University Ranking,2020.
By India Today it has been ranked 11th position in MDRA Best Universities, 2020.
39th position in the country in The Week Best University Survey,2020.
Rankings are good but the Placement rate is very low with the 20%. So, choose wisely.

University collage of Mangalore is a Oldest university.They offer PG,Diploma,PG Diploma,Doctoral courses for aspirants.Minimum 40 to 60% marks is mandatory for courses because in your query not mention particular courses so there minimum criteria is different for every courses .
For M.sc is Post graduation courses minimum 45% required for General and 40% for SC and ST.
For MA minimum 45% marks.
MCA 50% marks minimum for GEN and 45% for SC and ST.
MBA minimum 45% .

The College library came into existence in 1871, when it was a Government College under Madras Presidency. Subsequently, the College was affiliated to Karnataka and Mysore Universities. In 1980, the College became affiliated to Mangalore University, In 1993, the Government College was taken over by the Mangalore University. Since then there is a remarkable improvement in the College library. The old library, which was adjacent to the present Ravindra Kala Bhavan (earlier Academy Hall), has been shifted to a new building, adjacent to the science block. The new library building was constructed to commemorate 125 years of the College. The then Vice-Chancellor of Mangalore University, Prof. M.I. Savadatti laid the foundation stone for the building on 25th January 1996. The Governor and Chancellor of the University Smt. Ramadevi inaugurated the building on 13th September 2000. Dr. G. Parameshwar and Pro-chancellor of the University Minister for Higher Education was the chief guest for the inaugural function.
The College has a spacious playground measuring about 40×110 m which is utilized by the students for their various sports activities. Apart from the main ground, there are throw ball, Volleyball, and Tennis courts. There is a spacious sports room with facilities for Indoor games such as table tennis, carom, chess, etc. The campus also houses a state of the art multi-gym utilized by the students and staff of the College. The spacious playground of the College allows other organizations and Institutions to conduct sports-meets, coaching camps and cultural programmes on nominal rent. The Alumni association of the College conducts sports and cultural activities annually.
