University College, Mangalore Facilities

- Library
The College library came into existence in 1871, when it was a Government College under Madras Presidency. Subsequently, the College was affiliated to Karnataka and Mysore Universities. In 1980, the College became affiliated to Mangalore University, In 1993, the Government College was taken over by the Mangalore University. Since then there is a remarkable improvement in the College library. The old library, which was adjacent to the present Ravindra Kala Bhavan (earlier Academy Hall), has been shifted to a new building, adjacent to the science block. The new library building was constructed to commemorate 125 years of the College. The then Vice-Chancellor of Mangalore University, Prof. M.I. Savadatti laid the foundation stone for the building on 25th January 1996. The Governor and Chancellor of the University Smt. Ramadevi inaugurated the building on 13th September 2000. Dr. G. Parameshwar and Pro-chancellor of the University Minister for Higher Education was the chief guest for the inaugural function.
- Sports
The College has a spacious playground measuring about 40×110 m which is utilized by the students for their various sports activities. Apart from the main ground, there are throw ball, Volleyball, and Tennis courts. There is a spacious sports room with facilities for Indoor games such as table tennis, carom, chess, etc. The campus also houses a state of the art multi-gym utilized by the students and staff of the College. The spacious playground of the College allows other organizations and Institutions to conduct sports-meets, coaching camps and cultural programmes on nominal rent. The Alumni association of the College conducts sports and cultural activities annually.

The college has a canteen facility for staff and students.

The college has an auditorium facility for events and seminars.
- Gym
The college has a Gym facility for the students.
- I.T Infrastructure
The college has an excellent IT Infrastructure facility for the students.

The college has a departmental based laboratory facility for the students.

The college has good networking for the alumni association.

The classroom infrastructure is not very good but okay . The internet facility is good . The labs are well maintained with essential resources, library is good and the collection is also maintained with proper hygiene.

I will not say infrastructure is the best but I can say it is good enough for a student for his degree. Facilities like Classrooms,labs,library sportscenter are good. There is no hostel facility provided from college but there are hostels available nearby.Canteen is clean and hygienic.

University collage of Mangalore is a Oldest university.They offer PG,Diploma,PG Diploma,Doctoral courses for aspirants.Minimum 40 to 60% marks is mandatory for courses because in your query not mention particular courses so there minimum criteria is different for every courses .
For M.sc is Post graduation courses minimum
